2

The distance from a coniferous forest to the target should be at least 25 m. Start checking recognition range on site with illumination of (–5)×0-2 lux

and observe till it reduces to (3–5)×0-3 lux. Take readings of illumination every 5 minutes.Measure the terrain illumination by means of Landolt ring (Figure A.5). The measuring is carried out by two people – one is an operator, the other is

an observer. The observer’s position is at the place of testing. The operator with the Landolt ring goes away from the observer for 5-20 min in the direction of the target and turns in the direction of the observer. Then he rotates the board around the ring axis and stops it;

The observer has to define the direction of the gap in the ring. If the observer determines it correctly, the operator goes further away from the observer. If the observer makes a mistake, the operator comes closer. The testing is repeated, all the times changing rotating angle of the board;

Determine the longest distance, at which the observer determines the direction of the gap position correctly.

Then, according to the chart in figure A.7, find illumination that corresponds to this distance.

The sight is considered serviceable if it recognizes direction of turning tank turret (according to barrel direction) within 3 sec. in prescribed conditions with probability of 0.8 after illumination of (3-5)x0-3 lux is set.

3.3.5.4 For long-term storage of the sight, except already indicated works, the following works should be done:
