During World War II, superheroes were used as morale boosters, so it only made sense for Lora Zombie to illustrate superheroines as the female equivalent of propaganda posters in this fantastic pin-up series. Depicting Superwoman, Poison Ivy, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Batgirl and Wonder Woman in sultry poses, Zombie presents these DC Comics creations in a playful manner that viewers don’t often get to see. The results are simply jaw-dropping.

Lora Zombie employs her signature pencil and watercolor technique in rendering these images. The addition of splattered paint droplets give her images a rustic quality, even though they were expertly and carefully added to each illustration.

For those curious enough to learn about Lora Zombie’s painting process, there’s actually a YouTube video with footage of the talented Russian artist crafting each one of these marvelous pictures.
