JACKSON - Its on the windows of nearly 800 houses: a bright red, palm-sized
sticker telling solicitors to think twice before ringing the doorbell.
Six months after the townships new no-knock ordinance went into effect,
the owners of 764 homes have signed up for protection from solicitors who sim-
ply wont take no for an answer.
They like having this tool available to them, knowing whos out on the street,
what neighborhoods theyre canvassing, Township Council President Rob
Nixon said. When it comes down to it, its really in the hands of the people in
town. If they want the tool, they have access to it.
