    T7youwillearnthecerticateofMasterMedium/HeavyTruckTechnician.

    IfyouarecurrentlycertiedinDieselEngines(A9,H2,S2,orT2)

    Basic technical knowledge:Testsyourknowledgeofwhatisinasystemand

    howthesystemworks,andwhataretheproperproceduresand/orprecautions

    tobefollowedinmakingrepairsandadjustments.

    Service or repair knowledge and skill:Testsyourunderstandingandability

    toapplygenerallyacceptedrepairproceduresandprecautionsinassembly,

    disassembly,andreconditioningoperations;andinmakingmajorinspectionsandadjustments.Alsotestsabilitytouseshopmanualsandprecisiontoolsof

    thetrade.

    Testing and diagnostic knowledge and skill:Testsyourabilitytorecognize

    problemsandtousegenerallyavailablemeasurementandtestingequipment

    tomakeadiagnosis.Alsotestsyourabilitytotracetheeffectsofaparticular

    conditionandndthecauseofaparticularsetofsymptoms.

    Ifyouareanexperiencedandcompetenttechnician,acarefulreviewof

    thesupervisorwillexplainhowtousethecomputerandmouse.Eachtest

    appointmentbeginswithashorttutorialthatwillhelpyoubecomefamiliar

    withtheoperationofthecomputer-basedtest.Youcanalsopreviewthesystem

    onlineatwww.ase.com/cbtbeforeyougototakeyourtest.

    Eachtesthasaspecictimelimit,aslistedearlier.Asyoutakeeachtest,

    thecomputerscreenwillcontinuouslydisplaytheamountoftimeleft.Youcan

    takeabreakifnecessary,buttheclockwillcontinuetorun.Ifyounishearly,youmayreviewyouranswersorcontinuetothenexttest,ifyourappointment

    includesmultipletests.Onceyousubmitatestforscoring,youcannotgoback

    andreviewit.

    Ifaquestionisdifcult,marktheanswerthatyouthinkiscorrectand

    agthequestionusingtheon-screenbutton.Thengoontothenextquestion.

    Whenyouhavenishedthetest,youmayhavetimetogobacktothosequestions

    youhaveagged.Yourscoreisbasedonthenumberofcorrectanswersthatyou

    ineachtechnicalareacoveredonthattest.Thislistwasdevelopedbyworking

    techniciansandtechnicalexpertsfromacrossthecountryandwillprovideavalu-

    ablechecklistofwhattostudyforthetest.

    Itshouldbenotedthatthenumberofquestionsineachcontentareamaynotequalthenumberoftaskslisted.Someofthetasksarecomplexandbroad

    inscopeandmaybecoveredbyseveralquestions.Othertasksaresimpleand

    narrowinscopeandonequestionmaycoverseveraltasks.Themainobjective

    inlistingthetasksistodescribeaccuratelywhatisdoneonthejob,nottomake

    eachcorrespondtoaparticulartestquestion.
