1 INTRODUCTION

Ashgrove Plant Ltd. (trading as Ashgrove Recycling) received waste licence no. W0147-01 from

the EPA on 28th March 2002.

Schedule D.5 of licence W0147-01 stipulates the monthly monitoring of foul water composition,

as well as the quarterly submission of a report to the EPA. In accordance with these requirements,

foul water samples for the months of January, February and March 2019 were taken and sent for

analysis to ELS (Environmental Laboratory Services) on the advice of Cuthbert Environmental.

ELS is ISO 17025- and INAB-accredited.

This report addresses the water quality results collected in relation to EPA-established limits, as

set out in Schedule C.4 of waste licence W0147-01, as well as in Technical Amendment A of the

licence. The rest of this report is divided into two sections:

1. Foul Water Monitoring

1. Monitoring Location

2. Presentation of Results

3. Interpretation of Results

2. Overall conclusions on the quality of foul water and recommendations where necessary.

2 FOUL WATER MONITORING

2.1 Monitoring Location

Foul water samples were taken from a monitoring chamber just outside the northern wall of the

Materials Recovery Building (see Figure 1) on the grounds of Ashgrove Plant Ltd. The samples

were taken and placed in the appropriate containers in accordance with the instructions provided

by the laboratory, before being transported to the laboratory for analysis.
