fellowship, Masonic Education, and Brotherly Love.
Mark your calendar and don’t miss this special night.
Rainbow Assembly No. 42 will join us that
evening and make a presentation about their Work.
The meal is at no cost, but donations to support Rain-
bow Assembly No. 42 will be encouraged. With your
help we will have a full dining room and an even fuller
Lodge Room. We might even set a record in the Grand
Lodge of Florida.
Finally, written nominations for elected offic-
ers must be submitted to the Secretary no later than the
beginning of the Stated Communication on November
2nd. This is different than in previous years. The
nomination form may be found on our web site.
Oscar Patterson III Worshipful Master
FROM THE EAST Brethren: Our Grand Master visited the 11th Masonic
District on Friday, August 25th. Ashlar Lodge was
proud to present a check in the amount of $17,000 to
the Masonic Home of Florida. The funds will be used
to completely refurbish and furnish a room at the home
in memory of W. James S. Davis, Past Master of Ash-
lar Lodge No. 98. This endeavor on our part is an ex-
pression of Ashlar’s support for our Home and our ful-
fillment of our obligation to help, aid, and assist. Let
us never forget our Masonic Home. Each year when
you receive your dues notice you are asked to contrib-
ute 2 cents a day or $7.30 to the home. This is a small
way by which each us can fulfill our obligation.
On August 3, Ashlar recognized its Oldest
Living Past Master, its most senior members, and pre-
sented a 50-Year Pin.. W. Harry Waldron had his pho-
to placed in the special frame in the Lodge. His photo
as Oldest Living Past Master hangs directly below the
photo from his year in the East. This has never happen
before and never will again. When you are in the
Lodge, be sure to look closely at this once-in-the-
history of Ashlar Lodge event.

Brethren
We had a wonderful pilgrimage to Pineland #86 in August where great food and great fellow-
ship were in abundance. Brethren we must start viewing ourselves as the spears of morality in
our communities with such turmoil around us and, as we all know, iron sharpens iron. We can
stay sharp by expanding our circles and constantly endeavor to learn from our brothers from
other lodges. I commend all the brothers who made the trip with us to Palatka and encourage
those who might have missed to join us in the future. At Pineland, I have the privilege of once again hearing the Closing Charge delivered by RW
Randy( gets me every time I hear it). There is a line in the charge questioning " is [ a brother]
justly reprehinded?" This question got me thinking. Without getting preachy I call attention to
the Book of Jonah where we are provoked to consider the choice between Grace and Judgment.
When we are blessed with the opportunity to council a brother, or anyone for that matter, we
have the choice to come to that person with Grace or come to them in Judgment. Coming to
