Dear fellow colleagues,
The Asia Navigation Conference (ANC) has been started as a joint symposium of Korean
Institute of Navigation and Port Research (KINPR), China Institute of Navigation (CIN) and
Japan Institute of Navigation (JIN) from 2002, and now expands its border to all Asian
countries.
ANC2019 will be the 18th conference as a sequence of events that started in Shanghai in 2002,
and were held more recently in Yeosu (2016), Zhanjiang (2017) and Chiba (2018). This year
the ANC will be hosted by KINPR and held at Busan Port Exhibition and Convention Center

Under the theme of Hyper connectivity of Ports and Integrated Navigation, the aim of the

also to discuss on Marine Science and Technology among Asian countries. Furthermore, this
conference will bring experts and researchers of Asian countries together not only to exchange
recent progress and trends but also to promote mutual developments in navigation, port and
related fields.
ANC2019 cordially invites experts and researchers who are engaged or have interests in
Navigation, Port Research and/or related fields to submit manuscripts, which properly meet
the dates, forms, and volumes described below.
I hope that the conference will be a fruitful time for all participants, and I am looking forward

About Busan
As the nation's second largest city, Busan is also one of the most important marine cities in South
Korea. With approximately 3.5 million residents, it is located on the southeastern tip of the Korean
peninsula.
Busan is an easily accessible city which has international connections to China, Japan, and many
other East Asian countries via direct and transfer routes. It has hourly flights directly to and from
Seoul as well. On average, Gimhae Airport in Busan has 489 departing and arriving flights per
day, and many new direct and indirect routes have recently opened.
While getting to Busan from Seoul may seem like an inconvenience at first, travelers have the
option to use the KTX and new SRT high-speed trains: marvels of modern transportation. The
KTX makes the trip from Busan to Seoul in 2 hours and 18 minutes, while the SRT uses a slightly
more direct route and gets there in just 2 hours and 9 minutes. On the other hand, the Busan
Transportation Corporation operates 4 lines (114 stations, 115.2km) and serves as the legs of over
920,000 citizens on an average day.
Historical
Busan was the capital city during the Korean War, where most heritage of the modern history of
Korea remain. Busan Modern History Museum and UN Peace Memorial Hall are a couple of
must-see attractions.
Beautiful
Nature Beautiful Nature: Busan has the ocean, mountains, rivers, and hot springs so you can find
the beauty and wonder of nature. While walking along Galmaetgil in Busan, for example, you can
encounter beauty in each corner.
Seaside Advantage
The special features of Busan, as a maritime city, are the beaches, ports, and coastal cliffs. Well
known places are Haeundae Beach which is registered in the Guiness Book, HaedongYonggungsa
temple situated on the cliff and Igidae Skywalk. Busan is famous for maritime leisure, but you
can also experience baseball games, temple stays, and traditional Korean culture.
