gists treat the patient, not the EEG data.

ESES is an EEG pattern characterized by continuous (or near continuous) spike-wave discharges during NREM sleep. It is often associated with an

encephalopathy (ESES syndrome) characterized by epileptic seizures, global or selective regression of cognitive functions, and motor impairments.

Not all Epilepsy is organic, meaning it doesn’t always “just happen”. Illness, and often head injuries can cause onset Epilepsy.

The treatments are not always the same, and there arespecialists who handle this type of condition.

Epilepsy surgery can be life changing. We like to see the positive outcomes, but often we have deficits, or complications that need continued care. This discussion is focused on patients who have
