This course explains how the code organizes and covers the general references and guides that apply to procedure and performance qualifications such as positions, type and purpose of various mechanical tests, acceptance criteria, and applicability of section IX. In addition the participants will be able to create and interpret the PQR, WPS and WPQ welding qualification. This course will be helpful for the students who are responsible of the construction, fabrication, erection and repair. Who should join This course is intended for welding engineers, inspection engineers, fabrication engineers, mechanical engineers, NDT personnel, quality assurance personnel, testing laboratory personnel, and maintenance personnel. Bring to Class Students should bring to class: a calculator, a straight edge (or triangle), pencils, highlighters, post-it, lots of questions and CAN-DO attitude. The relevant codes will be prepared by the student himself. Course objectives: 1. Apply the latest requirements of welding for the fabrication and inspection in accordance with latest ASME codes and standards 2. Review welding processes, common variables and basic welding metallurgy. 3. Write and qualify welding procedures that comply with ASME Code with an in-depth understanding of the requirements 4. Identify and examine the requirements for welder and operator qualification in details and in an easy way 5.
