The following questionnaire is in two main parts. The first part gauges self assessed knowledge levels against the West of Scotland Learning & Development Framework for Council Officers, and is specific to Council Officers only. The second part looks at ASP training already received, on offer and desired, as well as the Council Officer Forum and any seminars. An abbreviated version of this part will be developed for staff who are not Council Officers. Completion of both parts are required to determine training and development needs of Council Officers themselves, but also to allow relevant questions and answers to be amalgamated into the wider return. Your assistance in this matter is very much appreciated. Thank you

In order to undertake the functions of a Council Officer, staff who have been appointed as such need to have relevant knowledge and skills and apply appropriate values and ethics. The Learning and Development Framework for Council Officers was developed by the West of Scotland Adult Support & Protection Training & Development Group, and the questions that follow within this section are aimed at assisting mapping of knowledge a practitioner needs in order to carry out the duties of a Council Officer under the Adult Support and Protection (Scotland) Act 2007.
