Description:
I'm advocating for social awareness and public understanding on behalf of those handicapped by Asperger's Syndrome. Asperger's Syndrome is an under-explored condition that each year recognizes an increased number of persons being diagnosed with this lesser form of Autism.

On behalf of those human beings diagnosed as non-neurotypicals with Asperger's Syndrome, I am advocating for social awareness and public acceptance of this arguably lesser form of Autism. Technically speaking Asperger's Syndrome is a disability, not a handicap and non-neurotypicals prefer viewing themselves as having differences from that of neurotypical persons living outside the autism spectrum. The exhibited antipodal social characteristics of persons with Asperger's Syndrome by no means makes them less than neurotypicals, in fact most non-neurotypicals possess very high IQ's. The main difference between a non-neurotypical person and a neurotypical person is that people with Asperger's Syndrome have a "heightened sensory function". Non-neurotypicals hear more, smell more, feel more, and see more than neurotypicals. Therefore everything is brighter, louder, and more intensely odorous to non-neurotypicals. For non-neurotypical persons with Asperger's Syndrome, these amplifications of the senses at times can be overwhelming. Persons with Asperger's Syndrome also think differently, they are more literal, more truthful, and more logical. The end product of their communicated social language could be misinterpreted by neurotypical persons as off topic, hyper focused, withdrawn, and socially awkward or antisocial. Non-neurotypicals with Asperger's Syndrome experience the shared commonality of Heartbreaking Social Loneliness throughout their lives. This nearly constant lack of social human interaction compounds as a form of "no touch" invisible physical torture as coined by Professor Alfred W. McCoy. Within any given environment this erosive conditioning often manifests itself from the lack of an interconnective bridge between neurotypicals and non-neurotypicals. In this scenario, neurotypicals do not recognize the demeanors of non-neurotypicals as being wired differently and thereby causing their external behaviors to be misinterpreted as anti-social while internally the non-neurotypicals deeply desire social normalcy with others. Likewise, non-neurotypicals are often stymied by social hurdles that neurotypicals take for granted as exampled by their ability to maintain conversations with random chitchat while those diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome have great difficulty perpetuating discussions absent of logical structural foundations. This inter-connective fractionalization could be abated and mended by learning the social language of persons diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome and investing a little more time on the common middle ground for dialog that afford us the avenue for becoming more human. The thought process of a non-neurotypical persons is a lot like their sensory process. Persons with Asperger's Syndrome think everything at once while seeing all sides of a problem, puzzle or subject simultaneously. This is why many non-neurotypical persons with Asperger's Syndrome are non-verbal or may seem antisocial, because they are in a constant state of cognitive & sensory overload. Persons with Asperger's Syndrome might sit by themselves or rapidly leave a confined space or social function without any apparent reason discerned by neurotypicals. In cases of extreme Autism, when a neurotypical observes a non-neurotypical rock, flap and spin, society should be aware these human beings are performing these actions to sooth and calm themselves. From another perspective, I opine that neurotypical persons might also come to view a non- neurotypicals as unique highbreds having journeyed further along the evolutionary path within the collective world of human beings and waiting for others to learn their language so they might share their beautiful minds. That is also to say that for humanity to exist, so must we all possess the aforethought to eat life before life eats us and strive to always become more human. “TM” Tikkun Olam: Restoring the Broken World Investigative Journalist PLEASE PRINT, POST AND CIRCULATE COPIES OF THIS NOTICE. Persons with Asperger's Syndrome pose no threat to themselves, to society or other individuals. These human beings are among your friends, classmates, teachers, and coworkers. In the rolls of boyfriend and girlfriend between non-neurotypical and neurotypical persons, given the challenges to understand and communicate within the social language interface and the delays that result in readily interpreting subtle facial expressions and body language, respectfully I suggest that it might be best to patiently express a direct interest to a non-neurotypical if one exists. This should afford all parities with the necessary benefit of mutual understanding and a hopefully positive interconnective social experience.
