The global leader in door opening solutions ASSA ABLOY Hospitality ASSA ABLOY Hospitality Gangway Control System The Marine Division’s Gangway Control (GWC) system is a secure and flexible method of storing crew, guest and visitor data and providing real time status reports of who is on board and ashore, as required by the ISPS regulations for passenger and merchant vessels. The GWC is set up at the gangway or other suitable location. The system comprises of: GWC workstation: laptop PC • GWC software • Web camera • RFID Card scanner • RFID Card printer/encoder • GWC server • Blank cards • Colour ribbon Crew, guests and visitors are registered in the system and an identification card is issued with the person’s photograph and a unique ID, which is stored on a programmed RFID chip. Real time status reports can be accessed via the internet on the ship’s network and shore side offices can monitor the ship’s status on the internet. Advanced screen menus are available, including GWC, Ship Status and Personal Information reports. GWC always has access to the generated customised reports. GWC is flexible and can be interfaced with any crew management system, e.g. DNV Navigator, OCS and Adonis. The hardware is common Windows and PC compatible devices, e.g. USB web camera and IP scanners. The mandatory software is the latest Windows compatible. The basic system requires one license per work station (client version) and one license for the database server (server version). The software can be installed on multiple PCs, according to the license agreement. The GWC system is easy to operate and maintain, using well known platforms. The system can be very simple or advanced, depending on the vessel’s requirements. The system can be integrated through interfaces with VingCard Key, VingCard Mustering, PMS and POS systems.
