VISION
“While our Education is directed towards the development of the individuals; we too are primarily concerned for instilling Gospel values in those we educate and to turn them into responsible citizens of our country who will be ready to take part in social, political and cultural life with selflessness and zeal. Our special focus will be towards the formation of the committed personalities who will be filled with a sense of mission towards their country as well as to their world. We strive to implement the national aims and objectives of education among our learners through the goals that our school has designed and which must be realized and propagated by all our staff members as well as our students”.
ACADEMIC ASSESSMENT
1. The assessment of the students of classes VI-X will be based on Continuous and Comprehensive.
2. The academic session will be divided into two terms. Each term will consist of pen & paper tests and assessment based on activities.
3. Using unfair means during tests/assessments will lead to cancellation of the paper.4. The marks obtained by the student in each weekly test/mid – term assessment will be
given in the school almanac within a week after the test/assessment. Parents are requested to sign it and send it back to the class teacher. If you do not received, please get in touch with the subject teacher immediately.
5. Regularity in tests/ assessments is a must for the students.6. 75% attendance is mandatory to enable a student to appear in the Final Assessment.7. If a student is absent for any test she/he will be awarded no marks in that test. If a student
is absent on the day of the test due to medical reasons , a written application supported by a medical certificate must be submitted on the same day.
8. No student is allowed to go home after the test and no half day leave is permitted.9. The students will be awarded grades and not marks. The marks obtained by them will be
converted into grades on 9 point scale (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2, D, E1, E2)10. The schedule of pen & paper tests, SA-1 and SA-II is given in this planner . The assessment
based on activities, projects etc. will be distributed evenly throughout the year for all subjects. The information for the same will be given by the concerned subject in all the areas of assessment.
11. Promotion to the next class will be granted only if the student scores at least D grade in each subject in all areas of assessment.
Please note : According to CBSE for classes IX & X it is mandatory to obtain 25% marks in Summative Assessments to be promoted to Class X and XI. If mandatory 25% marks have Not been obtained in the Summative assessments in a subject , Grade E1 or E2 WILL NOT BE UPGRADED.
12. CBSE has introduced Assessment of Speaking and Listening (ASL) skills in classes IX and XI . The result of ASL will reflect in the assessment report separately.
13. Open Text Based Assessment (OTBA) having 10 marks weightage for all subjects in class IX and Economics and Biology in class XI has been introduced from session 2013-14.
14. The students of Class XI and XII will be assessed regularly through weekly tests, Revision tests, Mid-Term Examination, Pre-Board Examinations (only for class XII) and Final Examinations . The Final Examinations for class XII will be conducted by CBSE whereas for class XI it will be conducted by the school under the guidelines given by CBSE.
15. A student of class XI will be promoted to the next class only if he/she obtains a minimum 33% marks in all subjects. 25% of Midterm, 25% of cumulative Test and 50% of Final Term is considered for final result calculation.
16. It is mandatory for the students of classes XI & XII to pass separately in Theory & Practical exams as per CBSE guidelines.
