Federated Info Mgmt Environment SolutionsAIM May Require a Variety of IM Solutions

Issue AIM Requirements

Engineering Content Management

Capability to manage engineering drawings in their native 2D/3D format (i.e. store, access and modify drawings) as well as other engineering information. Includes drawing-centric and data-centric design management solutions. Includes support for federated information management.

GIS Special capability for organizations to manage information with respect to an asset’s geospatial coordinates. Includes support for federated information and the capabilities to manage/access information using relationships like within a region, near another asset, and GIS operators like polygons, buffers, etc.

Manufacturing Intelligence Solutions

General capability for developing global data models for information distributed across various information systems and managing the exchange of such information across applications. While they were developed for manufacturing environments, the same capabilities may be applied for AIM across a variety of general industries.

Historians Special capability for organizations that have to manage time-series and event data, such as periodic readings of an asset’s condition or location or failures. Includes support for federated information and capabilities to recall information on the basis of time periods, significant events, etc.
