Creating enigma? • Not showing the full scenes.
• Showing her open the door, but not showing what happens at the end.
• Leaving the audience to think why is she admitting that she has killed them
• Where do the men go, you see them go in but not coming out.
• The narration is creating enigma, because at the end the narration is of the start of the poem Salome. It gets the audience to think.
Luara&Kauana
Narrative
1st – Her with the detective present
2nd – Flashback of her with the men past
linear
Luara&Kauana
3rd – it goes back to her and the detective, at the same time.
Although the contents of the story is nonlinear (flashback) . The telling of the story is linear, from scene to scene.
Film Theory?
• We are using the theory of Vladimir Propp who came up with stereotyped characters•
Valetina(main girl) : will be the typical villain
The men( one of the men) :will be the typical victim
Mr Smith (investigator) :typical victim/helper.Luara&Kauana
• We are using the theory of Tvzetan Todorov , who came up with the theory of the narrative structure.
Equilibrium she is killing all the men , and no one has found out.
Disequilibrium the investigator finds out everything she had done, and becomes a threat to her . She also kills the investigator.
New equilibrium there is no consequences to her acts.
Film Theory?
• We are using the Claude Levi-Strauss theory of the narrative conflict
• 1.Femme fatale ( villain ) vs. Victim
• 2.Past vs. future – flashback , and what she will do to the investigator.
