• Though Web 2.0 (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram...)

• All were created to give the public (audiences) control and the freedom for expression and keeps us connected

• i.e. Libya: The government switch off the internet to stop civilians (revolutionists) from informing the outside word.

• I.e. Ai Weiwei a Chinese activist (artist) who likes to strike up controversial to expose the Chinese government . He informs the public by his blog and twitter

• 94% of all businesses with market development use social media

• 60% of marketers can spend up to a full working day on maintenance

• 43% of people aged 20-29 spend over 10 hours a week on social media

• 85% percent of business marketer feedback said they received an increase in exposure

• The most popular are, Facebook, Twitter, Google+

Its a Variable and integrated tool for business marketing

To release news, market products, direct attention to special offers and new content

Like Facebook and Twitter as one but allows them to customize promotional content by creating different groups

• Portable technology...

• Allows us to capture the moment i.e. Instagram

• iphone, HTC, Samsung – Get free publicity not only through social media but also through word and mouth. The kind of technology on these phones allows us to connect to the internet worldwide

• This also enables us to be ‘Citizen Journalism’ but the problem of certifying the story raises issues if inaccurate

• Yet it also allows small charities and independent fund raisers

Postmodernism;

• Our lives are now digitally stored which could imply we have lost our identity's

The purpose of this documentary is to inform audiences of the effect social media has in our world and society. And to determine if its for the better or worse

2. What would people learn about this topic from your documentary?

They will learn about technological convergence, web 2.0 among other things that affect and contribute to ‘The role of social media around the world’

3. Connect purpose to audience – why should/do they want to learn about this topic?

This topic is current and relevant to people and in today’s society and this documentary would explain to them and help them understand this topic

4. Who is the audience, target audience, secondary audience?  Niche or mass - why?

Parents, Technology geeks, Middle & Upper-Class. This topic effects all of them

Parents; Their kids go on social media and their parents have no idea what they are doing or how to use social media themselves. This would tell parents the dangers and the advantages

Technology geeks; They would already have knowledge on this topic but this could also widen it as it may go in areas they had never known

Middle & Upper-class; Social media is what is used for marketing in all business its free, easy and fast but is this a good thing. This will help them understand what exactly they are using

5. What style of documentary is it? (observatory, participatory (informative, persuasive etc) Explain why/how

This is an informative documentary as its just gathered information in order to aid the public in understanding this topic and to come up with their own judgement to decide if its good or bad for us

This episode goes through Web 2.0 and its aid in spreading news through citizen journalism and helping activists i.e. Ai Weiwei

Episode Two: Technological convergence – Digital Age

With smart phones and tables, we now have information at our fingertips but have we lost our identity and become so lost in the rush of technology

Web 2.0:

• Facebook, Twitter, Instagram all allows fans to follow and interact with fans

• Fans groups can be made which in turn creates more buzz and followers

Newspapers & News:

• We are constantly bombarded with celebrity's lives on and off our TV

• Sky news has a section dedicated to gossip

• ‘News of The World’ was shut down for phone hacking celebrity's and innocent friends

• The public loved the scandals we feed off of peoples invasion of privacy

Paparazzi

• With the royal family's summer invasion of privacy was taken to a new level as nude pictures were captured

• The royals issues an investigation and for the paparazzi to keep their distance but the picture was still published in France

• Showing Britain's power can only go so far

To shed some light on the reasons why we fuel celebrates fame. To the fame hungry reality stars to the famous privet stars

2. What would people learn about this topic from your documentary?

Why we are so obsessed with celebrates and what role they play in our society

3. Connect purpose to audience – why should/do they want to learn about this topic?

They would learn the reasons behind why society loves to know about celebrity's lives and why we are so bombarded by gossip 24/7

Informative and persuasive.

Informative in giving reasons and truths behind the reasons why we cant get enough of celerity's.

Persuasive in trying to dishearten people who are so obsessed with celebrity's to re-evaluate why and the things they would be doing other than following (stalking) someone they don't know

Why is it acceptable to invade celebrities lives but when it happens to real people its labels as stalking?

Episode Two: Gossip & Magazine

Why are we bombarded with gossip, fashion and rumours on a daily hourly basis. What happened to current affairs and the problems in the world

Episode Three: Twitter Friends = Celebrity's + Fans

This episode is about Web 2.0 and how celebrity’s now communicate with fans. Is this opening the door to invasion of privacy or giving the fans respect in acknowledgement
