Program Notes

For financial aid, advising, and other reasons, students should work with

their advisor to ensure that this code is properly recorded on their academic record.

Admission Requirements to Central Washington University’s Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies Program All

students who intend to transfer to CWU should talk with a CWU advisor to review specific admission requirements.

Students must have a 2.0 minimum cumulative grade point average to be considered for admission to this program. All

of the courses in this degree will transfer to the CWU Liberal Studies Degree.

Students are required to maintain a minimum grade of 2.4 in all hospitality and event planning classes.

Courses approved for transfer from other academic institutions must have a minimum grade of 2.0. Event planning and

hospitality courses approved for transfer must have a minimum grade of 2.5.

High School Transition Program Students (Tech Prep, College in the High School, and Running Start) It is

recommended that high school students who have earned college credit through dual credit programs meet with a

college advisor.

As you fulfill requirements remember that at least 60 credits MUST BE COMPLETED at 300 and

400 levels, as a graduation requirement from CWU. This can include general education electives

credits taken at CWU.

General Education Requirements Note:

To facilitate an understanding the CWU general education degree, the following chart has been

attached. Students completing the Liberal Studies program under this program will be required to

complete CWU’s General Education program. It has been incorporated in the two year plan of

study at CWU for the Liberal Studies degree, below.

Student should remember that ONE course must be taken from every knowledge area. At one

Pathway must have at LEAST THREE courses completed.

There are hundreds of variation to meet this criteria only a few have been included in this example.
