WELCOMEThe registered pharmacist who are practi cing either in
a hospital or in a community is not getti ng good opportu-nity to update their knowledge and as a result unable to meet the present expectati ons in the fi eld of Pharmacy. Hence, there is a need to update the knowledge regarding handling the prescripti ons writt en by the physician and deliver bett er professional services. Moreover, it is the re-sponsibility of the pharmacists to review the prescripti ons for any incompati biliti es or Adverse Drug Reacti ons (ADR) arising from the prescribed drugs and ensure safe and ef-fecti ve drug uti lizati on.
The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has come out with the concept of introducing the Conti nuing Pharmacy Ed-ucati on (CPE) programme for all the registered pharma-cists irrespecti ve of the fi eld of practi ce. Hence, Karnataka State Pharmacy Council (KSPC) is implementi ng the same for all the registered pharmacists within the state.
BLDEA’s SSM College of Pharmacy and Research Centre Vijayapur, was established in the year 1982 with the vision to provide quality pharmaceuti cal educati on, practi ce and research with global standards and to meet health care needs of the backward region of North Karnataka. Today it is imparti ng quality educati on in Pharmaceuti cal Scienc-es at D.Pharm, B.Pharm, M. Pharm., Pharm.D and Ph.D. levels.
As there is need to enhance the community and clini-cal applicability of community and hospital pharmacist in health care system and to address the role and responsibili-ty of these pharmacists in changing scenario, a counti nuing Pharmacy Educati on is being organized in collabora-ti on with Karnataka State Pharmacy Council (KSPC), Bangalore. The experti se and experienced resource persons will address the various aspects of the aspectus of the CPE Program. We request you all commu-nity and hospital pharmacist to att end the counti nuing Pharmacy Educati on and acquire the sparking knowledge and make it grand success.
