Thanks to the generosity of alumni and friends, total newgift commitment received by the Foundation in 2014totaled $380 million, with $32 million of that totaldesignated for the Business School. The UW Foundationmanages the core endowment for the University ofWisconsin-Madison (currently valued at $2.4 billion), withtotal assets under management of $3.18 billion.

In 2014, the Wisconsin Alumni Association and UWFoundation successfully merged forces - forming theWisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association. The

Wisconsin Foundation & Alumni Association (WFAA) supports the transforming impact of the University ofWisconsin-Madison and engages a vibrant, worldwide community of alumni, donors, and friends.

Comprehensive Campaign:

UW-Madison will publicly launch its fourth comprehensive fundraising campaign in the University’s history in thefall of 2015. In the first two years of the quiet planning phase, just over $1 billion in campaign gift commitmentshave been secured, with approximately $75 million of those gifts designated for the Business School.

Wisconsin Naming Gift:

In 2005, the then dean of the Wisconsin School ofBusiness, Michael Knetter, began planting the seedamong alumni about a new type of naming gift. OnOctober 27, 2007 the Wisconsin School of Businessannounced the receipt of an $85 million naming gift thatwas unlike any other. Instead of naming the school forone individual, a group of 13 alumni known as the"Wisconsin Naming Partnership" joined together, eachdonating a minimum of $5 million to “not name” theschool, but rather to let it keep its name. Further buckingthe trend of typical naming gifts, they chose to not namethe School in perpetuity, but rather for only 20 years, leaving open the future option to raise more money if itreceived another sufficient donation. The legacy and brand of the Wisconsin Naming Gift has become the bedrockof the institution’s strategy and brand: Together Forward, embracing the notion that together we will achieveoutcomes that individually, we would not dare to dream on our own.
