Tombstone Trolley Tours

Take a 25-minute narrated historical ride back in time to Boothill. An expert conductor will share with you the history that has shaped Tombstone into “The Town Too Tough to Die!” Take a tour on the Ghost & Murder ride if you dare! Boothill Graveyard: Boothill was founded in 1878 on a slight hill just northwest of the city. This historic cemetery was the burial ground for all of Tombstone’s earliest pioneers. Many of some of the 250 known individuals died suddenly and violently with their boots on! It officially closed its doors in 1884. O.K. Corral: Watch Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday in daily reenactments of the famous Gunfight at the O.K. Corral. Stand where the West’s legendary gun battle began. Visit Doc Holiday’s room. Gun fights daily!! Tombstone’s Historama: Witness the dramatic events that made Tombstone famous: the silver boom, the great fire, the O.K. Corral Gunfight. Actor Vincent Price tells Tombstone’s story from Geronimo’s Apaches to modern times. Show every hour. The Tombstone Epitaph: Visit the Old West’s most famous newspaper. Read the Epitaph’s reports of the O.K. Corral Gunfight. See the 1881 Epitaph being printed. Free admission. The Legend of the Swamper: Learn about the Legend of the janitor and odd job man, known simply as “The Swamper.” He worked in “The Grand Hotel” during the 1880’s which was once known as the Big Nose Kate’s Saloon. The Tombstone Courthouse: Get a glimpse of the true old west at Tombstone Courthouse State Historic Park. Built in 1882 in the shape of a roman cross, this 2-story Victorian structure once housed the offices of the sheriff, recorder, treasurer, board of supervisors, jail and courtrooms of Cochise County

Ship’s Store Due to mitigating circumstances the Ship’s Store will be temporarily closed for the month of May while Ted

Waypa get things sorted out in storage. After that he will be able to fill orders with a 2 or 3-day delay in

shipping. He is planning a big inventory clearance sale at the reunion. You can contact Ted Waypa at

[email protected].

Side Note from Ted: You will love Tucson and southern AZ but it will be warm at the end of summer. There

is plenty to do and see, great hiking, and lots of very good places to eat as well as microbreweries. One other

thing; Arizona Highways magazine dedicated all the March 2017 issue to Saguaro National Park,

https://www.arizonahighways.com.

Volunteers Needed

Can you spare a couple of hours on Registration Day at

our yearly reunions? We are looking for the spouses of

our sailors who would be interested in helping out at the

registration or store table. If you are able and willing to

give of your time, please send your name to John

Dishaw at [email protected] or Joy Patz at

[email protected].
