Jeju Island

Long known as South Korea’s “Hawaii,” Jeju

Island is the nation’s reigning honeymoon

hotspot and a rising star in worldwide tourism.

The island—designated as one of the top ten

resorts in the world by UNESCO—is an Eden

of unspoiled nature filled with lush gardens,

bleached ocher beaches, hiking trails to the

summit of Halla Mountain, mystifying cave

systems near traditional villages, and nearby

islands colorfully ablaze with tangerine

orchards.

Jeju is well equipped to support its five million

annual visitors, offering modern spas, resorts,

casinos and golf courses. More visitors are on

the horizon, for the Korean government

declared the island a visa-free international area

in 2001, opening the doors to global tourism

and foreign economic development.

This new open-door policy is allowing Jeju to

flourish. In June of 2006, Jeju Air will take

flight, making it easier than ever for passengers

to experience this wonderful island. A $200

million theme park based on the country’s

vivid myths and legends is expected to open in

2009 with its sights set on 1.2 million annual

thrill-seekers.

Seoul

The International Destination Expo will also

feature in-depth training on Seoul, a

surprisingly festive cosmopolitan city that is the

cultural and commercial heart of Korea.

Ever since the colossal success of the 1988

Olympics and the 2002 World Cup, Seoul has

been building its reputation as a top travel

destination.With direct flights to Tokyo,

Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Singapore and

other major cities, Seoul is the gateway to Asia

and one you should know well in order to add

value to your clients’ next trip.

More beauty than the most wonderfuldreamscape
