• Idaho State made its 11th Big Sky Conference Tournament appear-ance last season progressing to the semifi nals where they had a near upset of No. 1-seeded Montana.

• Th e Bengals fi nished the regular season in a tie for fourth place aft er being reduced to just eight healthy players. Idaho State lost many players aft er being plagued by injuries for the majority of the season.

• Only four letterwinners and two starters return in Devin Diehl and Oana Iacovita. Th e Bengals must replace fi rst team all-conference selection Michelle Grohs and second team honoree Jenna Brown. Grohs led the team in 2008-09 with 14.0 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.

• Idaho State posted a .395 fi eld goal percentage last year, and posted the second best fi eld goal and 3-point fi eld goal percentage defense. Th e Bengals reduced opponents to 40.4 percent from fi eld-goal goal range and 31.3 percent from the arc.

• Selvig has been affi liated with Griz athletics for 36 years. He was a four-year member of the men's basketball team, coached the men’s freshman team in 1974-75 and was named the head women’s basketball coach in the summer of 1978.

• Th e Bobcats entered the 2009-10 conference tournament as the No. 3 seed for the second-straight year under Binford.

• She was the 31st overall pick in the 1998 WNBA draft . Binford played professionally with the Cleveland Rockers from 1999-02 and the Utah Starzz from 1998-99.

• During the 2008-09 season, Northern Arizona women’s basketball reached its 14th consecutive Big Sky Conference Championship. Th e Lumberjacks lost to Montana State 74-64 in the quaterfi nals. Northern Arizona was knocked out of the Big Sky Tournament in the quarterfi nals a year before as well.

• Northern Arizona women’s basketball opened the season with a 3-13 re-cord overall and 0-3 start in Big Sky Conference play. Aft er losing, 74-49 at home against Montana, the Lumberjacks picked up fi ve victories in their next nine games, more than half their fi nal season total in wins (9).

• Seven women’s basketball student-athletes earned Big Sky All-Academic honors in 2008-09, and nine earned Northern Arizona Golden Eagle Scholar Athlete awards each of the last two years.

• Laurie Kelly is the ninth head coach in the history of Northern Arizona women’s basketball, but the fi rst to lead NAU to two 20+ win seasons as the Lumberjacks matched the all-time record for wins in 2005-06 with 22 and then recorded 20 wins in 2006-07.
