This product isdesigned to reduce the amount of sway of the tap when it is beingused and to minimise any potential long term damage to sinks,taps or pipework. This product is particularly applicable to thefollowing conditions:
• The tap is fitted to a budget inset stainless steel sink
• The sink is a single bowl model, or has a large drainer section
• Taps using flexible connectors rather then rigid copper tail pipes
• Can be retrofitted without disconnecting the water supply.

Water Pressure ExplainedWhen choosing a tap you need to consider the water pressure available in your home.Cold water will be at mains pressure so is not usually a problem, the pressure at whichyour hot water comes out the tap is vital and you must note those designs which requirea high pressure to perform well.
HP - High Pressure - this tap is suitable for use on high pressure water feed (combi boiler/ pressurised water system)
LP - Low Pressure - this tap is suitable for use on low or high pressure water feed(gravity fed/ unpressurised water system)

If you have a pressurised water heater system then you will have a minimum amount of pressure (normally 1.8 bar), which is more than adequate to provide good flowthrough most taps.
If you have an un-pressurised system it is recommended that you check your water pressure with a qualified plumber before you purchasing an Astracast Tap. Pumps to boost water pressure can be purchased from all good DIY and plumbingretailers, should your tap of choice require a greater pressure than your system offers.
