I. A person of the highest level of competence, integrity, morals and instibJtional commitment.
ii. A distinguished academician, with a minimum of ten years' of experience as Professor in a University or ten years' of experience in a reputed research and/ or academic Administrative Organization with proof of having demonstrated academic leadershlp.
iii. As provided in the sec 14{5) and 14{6) of Karnataka State University Act, 2000, the Vice Chancellor shall, subject to the pleasure of the Chancellor and the State Government, hold the office for a maximum period of 4 years or until he attains the age of Sixty Seven years whichever is ear1ier. Consequently, a person to be appointed as Vice Chancellor shall have clearfouryears tenure.
2. It is hereby apprised that second proviso of sub-section (4) of section 14 provides that the Vice-Chancellor of the Women University shall, as far as practicable be a woman.
3.
