Presentation Abstracts

General Session

Keynote: Everything Starts & Stops with Motivation Everything Starts and Stops With Motivation How to Develop the Inner-Motivator Within Displaying Dynamic Motivation in Your Business ________________________________________________________________ How to succeed in life and business–Just count the ways… Forget tough. Today, competition is fierce! It takes more to succeed in business than just having a smart competitive strategy, good reputation, and a top-notch product or service. In reality, a company’s human capital holds the key to sustainable, long-term growth. Businesses don’t do business–people do. They create the force that ensures an organization’s successful future. These individuals hold the solutions to problems, the ways to improve motivation, productivity, the creativity to enhance products and services, and the insight that the company needs to move forward. These goals become a reality if dynamic motivation is displayed and every executive and manager treats their employees as well as they treat their most important customers. Smart business owners and managers know that without the full support of their employees, no initiative can succeed, nor can any individual leader achieve their goals. Who Should Attend: The Everything Starts and Stops With Motivation Program is ideal for anyone with current or anticipated leadership responsibilities, ranging from support staff, front line employees to senior management expecting to take on leadership roles; and those who are not in management positions but are expected to lead, motivate and influence others in the course of their work. By attending this program you will learn to:

Create and project your motivational vision, values, and expertise

Be more intentional and strategic in motivation, as opposed to relying on intuition alone

Serve as a source of optimism and enthusiasm while eliciting excellence and innovation

Provide the resources and support to encourage savvy risk taking

Infuse responsibility, ethical actions, and balance in an organizational setting

Recognize ways to lead effectively under a variety of conditions/circumstances

Lead during times of change including crises and mergers

Create an effective leadership team

Five Essential Facets of Dynamic Motivational Leadership

Create the vision

Consistently communicate motivational vision and create a "buy-in"

Initiate and implement change to meet goals

Sustain the momentum – Motivate employees

Execute strategies, actions needed to create and sustain success

Session #1 - Presentation Abstracts

Canadian Pacific HANA Journey

A 145-year-old railroad decided in November of 2014 to move all SAP systems to HANA. Our strategy has been one of minimal external involvement with only SAP as a partner to migrate our 22Terabyte production cluster of systems through a TDI to HANA in 20 months. We are retooling our IS group, not just the systems. Now, halfway the journey and all deployments have been on-time/on-budget. In production we have one third of our transactional systems in HANA, one third pending delivery, then final third due this fall. Dean Stoffel, Director Program Management CAS, SAP Technical Services at Canadian Pacific

Maintaining Continuity of Your HCM Reporting as You Move to The Cloud Level: Beginner/Intermediate The current space of SAP HCM can be seen as being composed of two worlds. At the base, we have the on-premise world; solutions are better established, functionally more complete, especially for such core components as payroll or organization management. And our future, we have the full-cloud world composed of cloud talent management, Employee Central and Employee Central Payroll. For most customers it seems these two worlds are colliding. Cloud deployment is usually taken on to improve user experience. However, because we have invested some much money, time and customization to our on-premise system, especially payroll. We are all searching for a middle ground to be able to get the data we need from cloud or on-premise and to improve the users experience of HCM reporting. Many organizations have concerns about losing control of their HCM data as they move to a cloud environment. Where is my data, what about payroll and all of the common actions we perform today? This fear is sometimes curbed by the benefits the end users gets through a better user experience. The challenges begin organizations move quickly into a hybrid environment and didn’t spend the time on considering their reporting strategy. Join us for this discussion of how to better manage your current on-premise data challenges as you move to hybrid reporting on your HCM data. Mary Grabeal, HCM Service Director and Ed Goeters, HCM Solution Specialist, EPI-USE Labs

In this session, we highlight how to integrate technology with test management software tool HP Quality Centre. This session focuses on one aspect of change management: testing. Often companies using SAP find that the benefits of automated testing can be significantly outnumbered by the challenges that come with test script creation and maintenance. Learn how to maintain test asset health and better understand what test scripts to run when using automated testing tools. Three Key Learning Points:

Effective integration of the SAP landscape

How to leverage innovative technologies to enable better testing and change management

How to maintain test asset health across multiple SAP change cycles.

SAP Change Management with Agile Methods: SAP HANA Reporting Case Study

The goal of change management is to ensure stability as infrastructure and development teams make changes. The goal of agile methodologies is to begin realizing business value, incrementally, as soon as possible. This presentation explores how Target works to “deliver more, faster without sacrificing quality” for SAP. In this joint presentation, representatives from Target’s change management and SAP HANA reporting teams will describe their journey to drive both speed and stability. Using a release framework that supports any development methodology, learn how Target is able to continuously deliver value to the business by applying a “right-sized” governance model, used automation to replace error prone manual tasks

and assign team members to more valuable work, and delivered almost 250% more change in the first year of adoption. The second section explores the practical application of Agile methods for implementing and supporting SAP, recognizing that ERP is an entirely different animal than new software development or website design. Adapting Agile for a large end-to-end system will have natural conflicts but with thoughtful strategy the transition can lead the businesses to begin realizing more value, incrementally, and earlier than before. Case Study – Examples from implementing custom SAP HANA operational reports. Clark Travis and Tom Kohlbry, Target

Self-Service BI Strategy and Execution

Self-service BI is all the rage, and IT barely has the budget and time to keep the lights on. In this session, I'll share self-service BI strategies that have worked for other companies, common best practices, and which SAP tools can help you get there. If you are looking to empower business to make their own data-based decisions, with IT providing a sandbox to play in, this session is for you. Ina Felsheim, SAP

Best Practices to secure S/4HANA

As organizations innovate and accelerate their adoption of S/4HANA and SAP Cloud solutions, they are faced with new challenges in securing critical data and transactions. HANA’s privilege-based security model is completely different from SAP’s traditional authorization model. End users may have direct access to views and data in HANA, further complicating security enforcement. In this session we will review case studies of organizations that have deployed S/4HANA and built their own Fiori and side-car applications. Join us to:

Understand different integration patterns with HANA

Learn about HANA security model and identify challenges

Gain insight into HANA security best practices including Analytics and ABAC policies

Learn more about the security solutions implemented to govern HANA access

Implementing Change in Accounts Payable

As your business grows the need for process efficiency improvements increases; more efficient work processes allow for increased throughput without adding headcount. These changes in the day-to-day work that your front line employees perform can be disruptive if implemented without thoughtful planning. By involving the full team in defining and implementing these changes -- as opposed to having the change foisted upon them -- we can achieve a better overall product through involvement of these experts in the daily work and a more efficient implementation owing to the personal investment of staff as participants in the process. This discussion will identify key organizational change agent roles and strategies for success accompanied by real life examples of Accounts Payable process automation at Zinpro. Center of Expertise - Creating Value for SAP Solutions

Cargill has deployed SAP with multiple business units across the globe, and industry standards indicate 50-60% of organizations fail to realize the business benefits they expected from their ERP implementations. Similar to these companies, we have come to learn we are not getting the value we originally anticipated from our solution. Our business units are now asking "how can we maximize the investment in SAP and continously improve"? Our Center of Expertise has developed an end-to-end (E2E) approach that reviews the SAP-enabled business processes resulting in opportunities for improvement across people, process, data, and technology that drives value for our business units. This approach results in a practical plan to effectively execute, monitor and drive this value through to completion. Recently, we partnered with our internal customer Cargill Texturing Solutions, CTS, to host an E2E review at various locations and provide recommendations for improvement. During our presentation we will present the business case to better optimize the SAP solution, and our CoE approach to helping our internal clients in this journey.
