Model that housed The Eso S45 motor, a 500cc OHV developing 48.6BHP. Machine is almost 100\% original. Engine is an original S45 recognised by having only 4 stiffening ribs, later engines had 6. Whilst this 1955 Eso was built for speedway, it was also used for longtracking, hence it has a foot operated 2 spd gearbox. Another interesting feature is the leading link forks which Eso used 35 years before they became standard on modern bikes

The Rudge made its first appearance in 1928 and the engine had four valves per cylinder 40 years before they became standard during the early years of dirt track racing. The Rudge ruled the roost before the arrival of the "speedway JAP" set the pattern for the next 30 years. Once the JAP engine had established its superiority, production of the Rudge speedway model ceased in 1933

The OHV twin engine was built to provide extreme acceleration to high speeds which helped it to win many races. It has a very rigid and strong frame being trussed laterally to prevent whip.
