Desperate to find money to pay for his floating crap game, Nathan Detroit bets Sky Masterson a thousand dollars that he will not be able to take a local Salvation Army girl, Sarah Brown, to Cuba. While Sky is
eventually able to convince Sarah to join him, Nathan battles with his fiancé of fourteen years, Adelaide. Meanwhile in Cuba, Sky ends up falling in love with Sarah and tries to reform his gambling ways. When he returns to New York, he bets all the members of the floating crap game that if he wins his roll of the dice, they will all have to go to church and repent. If he loses, he will give them each a thousand dollars. Will Sarah ever convince Sky to change his gambling ways? Will Adelaide and Nathan ever tie the knot?

Dombey and Son is considered by some to be Dickens’ greatest achievement. The focus of this reading will be on two plots: the story of Paul Dombey, the son of the title and secondly the extraordinary tale of Edith Dombey, described by critics as perhaps the only realistic woman character Dickens ever created! South Suffolk Youth Jazz Orchestra and West Suffolk Youth Jazz Orchestra meet weekly during term time as part of the wide range of musical opportunities available to young Suffolk musicians through Suffolk County Music Service. Tonight, Suffolk Youth Music presents An Evening of Big Band Jazz featuring the Youth Jazz Orchestras from South and West Suffolk. This concert brings together two very popular and experienced groups of young musicians expertly directed by JohnJermyandRobDavies.Theconcert,whichstartsat7.00pmwillbetheBands’firstperformanceattheSeckford Theatre and promises to be a great night for all fans of Big Band and Jazz music. AS/A2 Examination PerformancesAnother fantastic opportunity to share in the examination work of our Year 12 and 13 drama students. The Year 12 students will be presenting extracts from well-known plays including Harold Pinter’s ‘One for the Road’, Sarah Kane’s ‘4.48 Psychosis’, Kneehigh’s ‘The Red Shoes’ and Bertolt Brecht’s ‘Fear and Misery’.
The Year 13 students will present devised performances which have been heavily influenced by the absurdist genre. Both promise to offer an exciting and diverse evening’s entertainment.
Note: Some of this work will explore adult issues and the language used may cause offence

A new and improved version of shakespeare’s play, containing language you can actually understand, snatches of popular songs sung slightly out of key and local settings that will add a novel and thrilling note of topicality to the performance.
What if the two completely imaginary heads of Woodbridge School and Farlingaye were to wed? And some of the students decided to prepare a play in honour of their nuptials? And there was intrigue in the Classics Department and The head of Department’s daughter didn’t want to marry her father’s choice? And what if her father’s choice had been secretly wooing the Bursar’s daughter?
