From our Worthy President
Dear Brothers and Sisters, With the holiday season upon us I thought I would offer the following as gift suggestions: To your Enemy, forgiveness To your opponent, tolerance To a friend, your heart To a customer, service To all, charity To every child, a good example And to yourself, respect! From my family to yours may each and every one of you have a safe and happy holiday season! I hope to see everyone at the holiday luncheon on Sunday, Dec. 10th as well as our annual New Year's Eve Party! Merry Christmas! Gene Tripp Worthy President Atlanta Aerie 714
From our Madam President
Dear Sisters:
I trust you all had a blessed and thankful Thanksgiving holiday! No
matter how challenging circumstances can sometimes get, we
must not ever forget that every day there’s so much for which to
be thankful!
It has been an extremely busy year and we are winding down to its
close. Please note that our charity recipient this month is FODAC
(Friends of Disabled Adults and Children). This should touch every
heart as this is the season for giving! Please bring an unwrapped
toy for the clients of this special organization comprised of girls,
boys, women and men with disabilities between the ages of 0 and
20.
Although we will be collecting toys and gifts until December 23,
we will be making a presentation at their Breakfast with Santa
event on December 9. We highly recommend gifts and toys that
are interactive, as well as educationally, musically stimulating and
entertaining! Consider checking out the special needs section of a
Toys R US or the educational toys section of Wal-Mart. There will
be a number of special events going on throughout the month to
help raise money for this worthy cause. Please check your
bulletins for information on event dates and times. If you need
information about attending Breakfast with Santa, please contact
Flo Mungioli.
December 10th is our Holiday Luncheon from 1:00pm to 4:00pm,
and pre-cooked food donations are welcome and necessary! Sign
up in the hallway at the Aerie and Santa will even make an
appearance! Make sure you get your RSVP’s in! Also, be on the
lookout for information about our New Year’s Eve celebration.
We want to thank our new volunteers Mr. and Mrs. Richard
Wallace, III, who are joining Wayne Boyd and Family, in planning
this year’s New Year’s Celebration. We’re sure it’s going to rock
and roll!
Please don’t forget that Bingo always needs players and
volunteers and remember to keep all our sisters in our prayers.
As we approach the end of another year, let me take the time to
wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I hope all the
hopes and dreams which eluded you last year, will embrace you
with much enthusiasm, as you spend time enjoying family, friends,
fellowship and food!
Brothers and Sisters,
We are fast approaching Christmas and New Year’s. With that being said, we hope to see everyone at this year’s Holiday
Luncheon on Sunday, Dec. 10 from 1-4 pm. There is a sign up sheet in the hall for those of you that plan on attending. Please
let us know how many in your group and what you will be bringing. This will help us decide if anything extra that is needed. In
lieu of food, monetary donations are appreciated to supplement the extra food cost. See the flyer at the end of the bulletin.
We would also like to thank Gene Tripp and Carol Mobley for the beautiful Christmas decorations in the Social and Game
rooms. The Aerie looks great!
Plans for the New Year celebration underway. See the flyer in this edition.
A reminder to those involved in charitable events around the Aerie: Please remember to return decorations, etc. to their
storage areas after your event. We have 2 storage areas at the Aerie: the trailer and the outside room. Keys for both areas can
be obtained from the bartender. Please remember: The Grand Hall stage, the hallway, Social Room and the back deck are not
storage areas. The general membership is not responsible for returning the items that you used. Please ask for help if needed.
Thank you!
Survey results - gauged on 30 surveys returned:
95% of members thought that the Aerie is kept clean and inviting.
99% of members are happy with their service.
Draft beer – there were only 2 suggestions for a new draft beer. We have continued to serve only Miller Lite at this
time. If you are a draft beer person and have a better suggestion, please see the BOT.
Menu – The menu is still a work in progress. George has added 2 more entrees at this time: Pork Chops and Fried
Chicken.
45% of members are interested in a better quality of steak – members should have seen a difference in the past
month, since George is purchasing steaks from a different vendor. We strive to make your dining experience a positive
one, but in some cases member participation at the Aerie does not warrant an extravagant menu. We always
welcome ideas and suggestions. Please sign up to see the BOT on any Monday afternoon to discuss.
Employees – around 80% of members are happy with our employees. However, there were a few surveys that were
not so favorable. The issues mentioned in the survey have been addressed, but we urge members to see the BOT for
personal matters involving Aerie employees.
The BOT would like to thank everyone that participated. Although the survey contained general questions, it gave us an idea of
where improvement is needed. Please remember, we are all volunteers, so most times change does not take effect as soon as
you would expect.
We would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas; May this New Year bring you a peace filled life, warmth and togetherness with family and friends - and much prosperity! Happy New Year! BOT
Presidents Choice for December “EAGLE OF THE MONTH”
Presidents Choice for
DECEMBER EAGLE OF THE MONTH
Pati Berl
Kimball and I have chosen Pati Berl for December’s Eagle of the month for many reason’s! Pati is not only a dedicated member of the Board of Trustees, She is an Eagle that always steps up whenever she is needed whether it be for the Aerie or the Auxiliary. Anyone that comes in on a Saturday night can almost always expect to see Pati there helping out however she can. She has volunteered for multiple committees this year and has been a big part of most everything we do at 714. We are lucky to have such a dedicated member!
Pati will receive $25.00 Eagle bucks!
THANK YOU! Pati Berl for all your hard work and dedication to 714!
