We have come to the 5th edition of the event; which once again will have four Countries and sixteen swimmers racing on the four strokes as well as the relay 4x50m medley at the Piraquê Fast Lane Challenge.

United States, South Africa, Italy and the host Brazil will battle for the world Sprint supremacy; and at this time at the Olympic Aquatic Stadium, stage of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Strategy, speed and team effort will define the champion. Born in 2012, the Fast Lane Challenge has been in-

cluded in the Swimming calendar of the main sprinters in the world and its race format includes three individual rounds in each stroke and the 4x50 medley. It is an inno-vative event format as well as extremely dynamic; which is excellent for TV live broadcast.

In addition to the Rio 2016 Olympic pool, the 2016 edition brings another unique opportunity for all swim-ming lovers. On Monday, 25th of September, amateur swimmers across several divisions will have the chance to swim at the Fast Lane Festival, on the world’s most impor-tant 50m pool; following the FINA rules.

Fast Lane will be the last oficial event held at the Olym-pic Aquatic Stadium before it is teared apart and rebuilt into small pools in other municipalities in Rio de Janeiro. It is an unique opportunity for swimmers of all kinds, from the slow-est to the fastest, to execute their strokes in the same pool Rio 2016 Olympic swimmers enchanted the world.

Fast Lane 2016Chegamos a quinta edição do evento que mais uma vez contará com quatro países e 16 atletas que disputa-rão as provas dos quatro estilos e mais o revezamento 4x50m medley no Desafio Piraquê Raia Rápida.

As equipes dos Estados Unidos, África do Sul, Itália e o anfitrião Brasil se enfrentam pela supremacia da velo-cidade mundial desta vez, na piscina do Olympic Aquatic Stadium, mesmo palco dos Jogos Olímpicos do Rio 2016.

O evento consiste em trabalhar estratégia, veloci-dade e espírito de equipe para definir qual país será o campeão. Nascido no ano de 2012, o Desafio Raia Rá-pida passou a fazer parte do calendário dos principais velocistas do mundo e o formato de disputa inclui três rounds nas provas individuas de cada estilo e o reveza-mento 4x50 medley. Um modelo inovador e dinâmico para a transmissão ao vivo de TV.

A edição de 2016 é marcada por mais uma novida-de: no domingo, dia 25 de setembro haverá a disputa do Festival Raia Rápida, destinado a nadadores das ca-tegorias mirim a master seguindo as regras da Federa-ção Internacional de Natação (Fina).

O Raia Rápida será o ultimo evento ofcial a ser reali-zado no Olympic Aquatic Stadium, pois logo após o tér-mino da competição, a piscina será desmontada e reen-viada para outros municípios do estado do Rio de Janeiro. Oportunidade única para que qualquer nadador, do mais lento ao mais rápido do mundo, execute suas braçadas na mesma arena que os Jogos Olímpicos do Rio 2016.

Olympic Aquatic StadiumConstruído especialmente para os Jogos Olímpicos e Paralímpicos Rio 2016, o Olympic Aquatic Stadium será desta vez o palco da edição 2016 do Desafio Raia Rápi-da. Esta imponente arena, localizada dentro do Parque Olímpico da Barra da Tijuca, conta com excelente infra-estrutura e acabamento, capaz de acomodar mais de 14 mil pessoas durante o evento.

A piscina conta com a tecnologia de ponta da Myr-tha Pools, empresa italiana gigante no mercado de pis-cina. O palco do Raia Rápida 2016 foi construído com painéis de aço inoxidável, com camadas de PVC rígido

laminadas em alta temperatura e com acabamento de cerâmica resistentes à água. Esta é a piscina mais mo-derna do mundo e foi bastante elogiada pelos nadado-res olímpicos e paralímpicos.

Um dos atrativos para os participantes do festival amador será o fato desta ser a única e última oportu-nidade para poderem dar suas braçadas no palco da Olimpíada. Após a realização do evento a piscina será desmontada e transferida para outros municípios do estado do Rio de Janeiro como parte do legado prometi-do pela organização dos Jogos Olímpicos.

Olympic Aquatic Stadium

Built specifically for the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Olympic Aquatic Stadium will be the stage of the 2016 Piraquê Fast Lane. This imposing arena, lo-cated inside the Olympic Park at Barra da Tijuca, has an state of the art infra structure, able to host more than 14,000 spectators at a time.

The pool has the Myrtha Pools technology, Ital-ian and most well-known company in the pool market. The 2016 Fast Lane stage was built with stainless steel panels, layers of hard laminated PVC in high tempera-tures and finishing with water resistant ceramic. This

is the most modern pool in the world and was highly regarded by the Olympians and Paralympians who had the opportunity to swim in it.

One of the main reasons why amateur swimmers are participating in the Fast Lane Festival is because this will be the one and only opportunity to swim in the Olympic Aquatic Stadium. After the event, the pool will be teared apart and sent out to other municipalities in Rio de Janeiro as part of the Legacy Program promised by the Rio 2016 organizers.
