Further, in conformity with the law of conservation of energy (Bernouille theorem), the energy consisting of the sum of the kinetic energy (velocity) and the static pressure must be constant at such a point. The law of continuity of flow reads:

    If a process fliud flows through a piping, that flow is equal at every cross-section of the piping regardless of its diameter. Ifthere is a constriction in the piping, the velocity of flow at that point will increase because the same quality of fluid must flow

    through in the unit of time as at the point of the larger cross-section. Further, in conformity with the law of conservation of energy

    (Bernouille theorem), the energy consisting of the sum of the kinetic energy (velocity) and the static pressure must be constant

    at such a point. The consequence is that if the velocity of flow is increased in the area of constriction (increase of the kinetic

    energy), the static pressure energy must decrease in the same amount to obtain an equal sum of both these energies. A drop

    of the static pressure is called the differential pressure. By mathematical derivation from these two theorems we arrive at an

    expression for the flow in dependance on the differential pressure at the construction area (orifice):

    STANDARD ORIFICES WITH ANNULAR CHAMBERS TO DIN STANDARDS

    q = c , where q - mass or volume (qm, q

    v) flow

    p - differenttial pressure

    c - the constant depends on the orifice configuration

    and the process fluid characteristic

    Basic construction characteristics and use:

    - very accurate measurement is achived by an annu-

    lar chamber with corner tapping at 6 points becauseby this method is measured the mean value of dif-ferential pressure:

    - suitable for measurement of process fluid veloci-ties below 40 m/s

    - for 5 103 Re 107(Reynold s number)

    - with orifices having rated pressure PN 64 and PN100 expensive grooved packing for flanged connec-tions are not required because gasket grooves en-able the installation of It-gaskets

    - very simple replacement of orifice plates in opera-tion;

    - calculation of orifice bore to DIN 1952 and ISO5167.

    Construction configuration to DIN 1952, DIN 19205and ISO 5167, for liquids, vapors and gases.

    Overall lengh: 65 mm

    Nominal pipes size: DN 50 to DN 500

    Rated pressure: PN 16 to PN 100

    ATM supplies orifices with 2 flange gasket. Flangesand bolts are not in the delivery.
