Atomic 300 DCS®General Information
Description of the Machine ___________________________________________________________The Bona® Atomic 300 DCS® is a dust collection system with a powerful vacuum motor that runs on 120 volts 50/60Hz .
An onboard cyclone separator collects and deposits most of the dust during operation into the main collection barrel . A small percentage of dust may also be collected in the filter chamber located beneath the motor housing . Both of these collection areas are designed to be used with a properly sized bag in place for dust collection efficiency and ease of disposal .
In addition, a patent-pending AirBlast™ filter cleaning mechanism is integrated into the bottom of the motor housing .
Included __________________________________________________________________________• Bona® Atomic 300 DCS® (part # AD0003430)
• Operating Manual
• Docking Station ( 1 )
• 2” Lead Hose with Cuffs ( 25’ )
• 2” Smooth-Bore Hose with Cuffs ( 50’ )
• 1 1/2” Smooth-Bore Hose with Cuffs ( 50’ )
• Hose Carry-Bags ( 2 )
• Aluminum Y-Splitter ( 1 )
• 30” x 30” 20 gal . Collection Bags - 6mil ( 2 )
• 38” x 48” 30 gal . Collection Bags - 4mil ( 5 )
• Power Cord with Plugs ( 1 )
Set-up Instructions _________________________________________________________________
Install properly sized plastic collection bag into main collection barrel and filter chamber with bag excess gathered and smoothly draped over edge of tank .
DO NOT RUN UNIT WITHOUT COLLECTION BAGS IN PLACE AS THIS WILL ALLOW DUST TO BE PULLED DIRECTLY INTO THE MOTOR HOUSING, WHICH WILL THEN FLOW OUT OF THE EXHAUST PORT, CONTAMINATING THE WORK ENVIRONMENT!
USE ONLY HEAVY DUTY BAGS! ( 4mil or greater ) Thin bags may tear, pop and or pull into the cyclone during operation.

Atomic 300 DCS®Atomic 300 DCS®
1 .) Plug into any grounded 120v 15 or 20amp outlet . Confirm that collections bags are installed in both collection/filter chamber barrels; all hoses and connections are secure; lids are latched and sealed . Press ON/OFF switch to ON position .
Hour Meter .
Secure latches on barrels . The hook latches are adjustable . Occasionally adjust tension on the latches to insure an adequate seal .
Attach negative pressure hoses to ports on both collection barrels .
Cyclone has a T-hook that fits in tray slot for easy maintenance .
Included docking station can be bolted to vehicle/trailer floor for secure transportation when used with locking strap .
General Information (con’t)
Operating Instructions_________________________________________________________________
2 .) This unit collects over 98% of the dust in the cyclone collection barrel during operation . Eventually the small amount of dust that gets in the filter chamber will begin to clog the HEPA filter, thereby creating air flow resistance and loss of performance . The unit is equipped with a minihelic gauge that measures the resistance of airflow through the filter . When the gauge reaches approximately 36”h20, the filter should be cleaned with the use of the AirBlast™ clearing system . The AirBlast™ clearing operation should be repeated every 1-2 hours, but varies with amount of dust being collected over a given period .
3 .) To clean the filter simply pull the AirBlast™ catch lever back quickly and release . Repeat . The filter has been cleaned and you are ready to continue operation .
Dust Collection Capacity______________________________________________________________ The dust collection barrel has a 30 gallon capacity . The actual dust collection capacity should be based on whatever is an acceptable weight to handle for the operator . If the barrel is filled to create an unmanageable weight for an individual to safely lift, operator is required to utilize a mechanical lifting device to dispose of dust in an approved receptacle . Consult and abide by local regulations regarding disposal of debris .

Atomic 300 DCS®Maintenance and Inspection
Special attention to regular maintenance of the machine and its parts are imperative for effective operation and safety .
In order to prevent unnecessary downtime it is recommended to keep a limited number of spare parts on hand .
The following should be replaced at least every 1000 hrs of operation . Upon inspection, if filter damage is noticed, replace immediately .

Atomic 300 DCS®Atomic 300 DCS® Troubleshooting
Failure Possible Reasons of Failure Corrective Action
Too much dust getting into the filter chamber and bag gets sucked up into cyclone during operation
Suction leak in the cyclone lid Adjust latches . Replace lid seal .
Suction leak around one of the cyclone collection barrel wheel stems
Check by running with a little bit of dust in the tank with no bag . If leaking you will notice a blow pattern of dust around the leaking wheel stem . Repair seal and tighten .
Suction leak at the equalizer vacuum hose on the side of the collection barrel
Check the seal on the port plate and insure the small hose cuff is glued on hose securely and not leaking air .
Too much dust getting into the filter chamber and bag is sucked tight to the side of cyclone collection barrel during operation (which is normal)
Cyclone has debris stuck in it Inspect inside of cyclone and remove debris .
Cyclone lid is not sealing properly Adjust latches . If problem persists Replace seal on cyclone lid assembly .
Not enough suction Filter is clogged The gauge should read zero after cleaning with AirBlast™ valve . If not, actuate AirBlast™ valve and change plastic bag in filter chamber .
A lid is not sealed properly Check lid seals and replace if necessary or adjust latches .
Vac motor not operating properly Check input voltage to insure proper level . Replace motor brushes or motor if necessary .
Disconnected or damaged hose(s) Inspect hoses for proper connections or damage . Re-connect or replace if damaged .
Dust is not being picked up but the vacuum seems to be working properly
Dust shroud on sanding machines are damaged, not down on the floor surface or ineffective
Repair shroud, check for effectiveness and move down closer to the surface if necessary . Replace with sanding machines designed for dust containment .
Dust is blowing out of exhaust port on motor housing
Filter seal is compromised Remove filter, inspect seal and replace on unit . If problem persists replace filter .
Filter is damaged Replace filter .
Bags are not in both barrels Place bag in both barrels .
There is a hole in one of the bags . Replace damaged bag .
Prior to any repair work on the machine or drives, the machine must be secured against unintentional start-up . Put the machine in its Safety-off position .
