Page 2: Audience data analysis

This response shows that my audience would be more interested in crime and philological thrillers because most of the responses were in these to categories but there were also some for action thrillers but it was still marginally less than crime and thriller. And the two least chosen responses are religious which had no responses which and science-fiction thrillers, this signifies to me that I should not take this direction when choosing my subgenre for my opening sequence, and should go more in the direction of the of crime and philological thrillers.

This shows that the atmosphere of a cinema is more suitable for a thriller rather than the home, as it can bring a better experience to the viewer as the cinema can bring a more detailed and up-close experience to the viewer as the cinemas sound quality and dim lighting is much better than a bright house hold as the whole point of a thriller is to scare the audience.

thriller

This response shows me that my audience may like to see a gory opening or a death in the opening as they both have 44.44% of responses. But a psychological opening and a insight into the protagonists life aren't too far behind as they are each at 33.33% so I may use parts of this in my opening also. And the choices that got the least responses were a placid opening and having the ending as a flash forward so I will most likely not chose these ones in the opening.

The main story line which was chose by the audience was reference to haunted houses I believe I will you this kind of storyline in my opening even though its slightly cliché, and I'm not really sure I would use any of the others because their responses were so low. And instead I will create my own ideas.

This data is really not too useful to me as it does not help my research at all and I have to look through these results to see if there is anything I can compile from these results so that I can see if I can use any elements from some of these films in my filming to try and make my film more well received by audiences.

Page 7: Audience data analysis

These results indicate to me that voice overs used in movies are starting to become ‘’overused’’ and can become ‘’tacky’’ as a result to audiences but this isn’t saying to me that voiceovers are not well received by audiences only that they are sometimes overused in films. But most of the other comments I received about of these responses being negative

Page 8: Audience data analysis

This is a decisive response as its 60% to 40% , however it’s a yes or no question and I failed to put a middle ground which is a blunder of mine. But I may use found footage elements in my production but I will not go down this route when filming as it does not allow for me to do enough variation with the types of shots I could do when filming.

As a result of these results I will must likely use music in my opening sequence. To create a atmosphere for the audience whilst they are watching. But conversely not using non-diegetic sounds(like music) but instead using diegetic sounds can also have an effect on the audience and create atmosphere as well.

Varied responses, I will sift through these manually and pick and chose the components that I desire for my opening. Will also see if there are any correlations in the responses and if so will focus on these more in the creating or the main character in the production of my film.

What do you like to see in a thriller movie??These response are telling me what my target audience would like to see in my genre of film I will look through all of these responses and see if there are any recurring results, if so then these responses will be reviewed to see I can include them in my production but if not I will use the ones that I can fit in my production and try implement them.
