Software / multimedia localization

Much of the information

generated by organisations

nowadays is in multimedia

format, be it in audio, video,

animated or online format. In

order to successfully

communicate with as wide an

audience as possible, such

content must be localised When a software product is sold in other countries, it undergoes a translation of the linguistic elements, but also an adaptation to the needs of its intended market. The idea behind it is to make the product "local" and accepted and marketed successfully.

TRADITIONAL VS MUTIMEDIA TRANSLATION

Software localization is the translation and adaptation of a software or web product, including the software itself and all related product documentation.

Traditional translation is typically an activity performed after the source document has been finalized.

Software localization projects, on the other hand, often run in parallel with the development of the source product to enable simultaneous shipment of all language versions. For example, the translation of software strings may often start while the software product is still in the beta phase.
