O V E R V I E WMORAN BROKERAGE NEWSMoran Yacht & Ship is preparing another excellent lineup of yachts for the 2011 Monaco Yacht Show. The Show runs from September 21-24, and is by far the most prestigious and exclusive of the European yacht shows. Some of the yachts we will have on display are the 75.5m (248 ft.) Lurssen NORTHERN STAR, the 68m (223 ft.) Lurssen KISMET, and the 47m (154 ft.) Heesen 4YOU.

Moran Yacht & Ship has continued the streak of selling one Superyacht per month with the sale of the 47.2m (155 ft.) Christensen SILVER LINING in June and the 45.7m (150 ft.) Palmer Johnson VANTAGE in July. This unparalleled performance demonstrates why yacht owners who are serious about selling their yachts continue to enlist the services of Moran Yacht & Ship.

The recent delivery of the 61m (200 ft.) LADY KATHRYN V marks the fifth yacht over 60m to be delivered by Moran Yacht Ship in the last twelve months. This is the first time five yachts over 60m have been delivered in a twelve month period by any brokerage company. Moran Yacht and Ship will continue to deliver new yachts to owners who desire the best. Adding to recent success, Moran Yacht & Ship have negotiated a contract for the construction of a 90m yacht at a leading shipyard in Northern Europe. LADY KATHRNY V has joined Moran Yacht & Ship’s charter fleet and will be available in the Caribbean this Winter.

One new addition to our brokerage fleet is the 46m (151 ft.) Heesen SWEET DOLL. Built in 2003 to ABS class, she was extensively refitted in 2006/2007. Accommodations aboard Sweet Doll are for 10 guests, while twin 3648hp MTU engines give her a cruising speed of 20 knots. Another addition to our brokerage fleet is the 44.4m (145 ft.) Suez Shipyard LADY SCORPIO. Both of these yachts are in excellent condition and are sure to not be available for long.

The 36.6m (120 ft.) Palmer Johnson VITAMIN has undergone a price reduction and is now listed at $16,200,000. Built in 2009, she combines an elegant modern interior with the speed and maneuverability expected from a “sports yacht.”

MONACO SHOW 2011The Monaco Yacht Show is one of the most glamorous events in the Principality of Monaco. Not only are the world’s greatest superyachts present, but there are also exhibitions by numerous luxury brands. This year there will be over 100 superyachts on display, with more than 40 making their international debut. Each year the presence of these vessels inside Port Hercule draws yachtsmen from all across the globe. Moran Yacht & Ship will once again be displaying some of the finest yachts in the show. The 75.5m (248 ft.) Lurssen NORTHERN STAR and the 68m (223 ft.) Lurssen KISMET will be two of the largest yachts in the show. Both are perfect examples of the extraordinary craftsmanship which the Lurssen Shipyard delivers. The 47m (154 ft.) Heesen 4YOU will be very popular at the show due to the fine art collection onboard. Another Moran Yacht & Ship listing which will be available for viewing is the 57.3m (188 ft.) Abeking & Rasmussen EXCELLENCE III. One of the most iconic sailing yachts in recent memory, the 64m (210 ft.) Perini Navi FELICITA WEST will be the largest sailing yacht in the show. Also appearing in the show will be two new deliveries from the Amels Shipyard, the 54m (177 ft.) ARIELA and the 65m (212 ft.) IMAGINE. Each of these yachts represents the latest Amels semi-custom series deliveries in their respective size. The two largest yachts at the show this year both measure 85.6m (282 ft.), they are Ocenco’s SEVEN SEAS and Derecktor’s CAKEWALK. CHARTER FEATURECaribbean Island Exploration

DAY 1 BARBADOSBegin your island-hopping holiday from the colorful town of Bridgetown in Barbados. Spend the day exploring the delightful colonial-style villages or indulging in brilliant spicy cuisine. The beaches here are first-class and sure to impress sun-worshippers, while the island’s British-influenced heritage is easily recognizable in such popular pursuits as cricket and high tea.

DAY 2 ST. LUCIACruise to St Lucia in the Windward Islands, a small and verdant gem with plenty of opportunities for rainforest walks, golf and tennis. Visit the pretty Marigot Bay ringed by drooping coconut palms, considered one of the loveliest anchorages in the Caribbean. The port town of Soufrière is also worth a visit as you can take a trip to the Diamond Falls and explore the gardens and waterfalls.

DAY 3 DOMINICANext stop on your itinerary is the island of Dominica which is always full of surprises. With steaming valleys, 365 rivers, lush vegetation and the worlds’ second largest heated lake, Dominica is the ultimate Caribbean destination for outdoor enthusiasts. No end of activities can be found on the island from diving, whale, dolphin and bird-watching, to hiking and sun-soaking.

DAY 4 ANTIGUAHead to the Leeward Islands this morning to find Antigua and the atmospheric port of English Harbour. Opulent resorts, first-class sporting events and outstanding sailing characterize this tropical island. The quaint capital St John is a picturesque dream to wander or take a short sail across to Antigua’s sister island of Barbuda, ideal for glimpsing spectacular wildlife or exploring secluded pink beaches on the island’s south-west.

DAY 5 ST. KITTSHeading today to St. Kitts you will notice it is a lot less developed than the other island’s already visited. That being said, there is still plenty to do amongst the green rainforests and towering mountains. Visit the invigorating town of Basseterre for shopping and golf.

DAY 6 ILES DES SAINTESToday sees your arrival in Les Saintes, an attractive group of islands off the coast of Guadeloupe. Spend a wonderfully relaxed day amongst the exclusive resorts soaking up the sun on the superb beaches. Snorkelling, diving and enjoying the vessel’s onboard watertoys is another excellent way to spend your day.

DAY 7 MARTINIQUEMarking a return to the Windward Islands is Martinique, a classic French Caribbean island. Explore the capital of Fort de France with its many boutiques and restaurants or head to one of the more rural fishing villages or secluded beaches for a different glimpse of the island.

DAY 8 BARBADOSFor your final morning on board, enjoy a gourmet breakfast while sailing back Bridgetown in Barbados where your Caribbean experience will come to an end, and the memories will carry on for years to come.

PROJECT HERMITAGE

One of Moran Yacht & Ship’s latest deliveries, the 68.5m (224 ft.) Lurssen HERMITAGE, is a prime example of what can be accomplished when well-conceived design is merged with pinpoint execution. Moran Yacht & Ship’s experienced new build team of former yacht captains and project management specialists negotiated, managed and completed this project. Before the keel was laid, our team compiled an all-encompassing marine specification, negotiated the building contract to protect the owner from delays and additional costs, and assembled the design team of naval architect Espen Oeino and interior designer Andrew Winch.

HERMITAGE features a steel full-displacement hull and an aluminum superstructure, as well as a beam of 12.8m (42 ft.) and a 3.6m (12 ft.) draft. She accommodates 12 guests in 6 luxurious staterooms. This custom yacht also features ‘at anchor stabilisers’ which work at zero speed, increasing onboard comfort at anchor or in rough waters.
