Sunday’s Focus
“Judge not, that you be not judged,” Jesus said. What did He mean? Can Christians judge anything or anyone? What situations call for judgment? How do you know that you are “making the right call” or if you should make the call at all?
Readings for Sunday, 8.20.17
Isaiah 56:1, 6-8; Romans 11:1-2a, 29-32;

Pocket Crosses!
Share Jesus and
His saving love
through our cross
ministry.
Ministry Center
Christ Lutheran Church has
been invited to become the
spiritual heartbeat of the faith-
based Frank and Jane Krejci
Learning and Life Community.
We unanimously affirmed con-
ducting discovery for occupying
the Dana Library! May we walk
into our future in complete
unity.
Building Committee
The Building Committee had a
productive meeting a few weeks
ago. Lots of great ideas were
shared and discussion followed.
A few of us will be meeting with
architect Mike West soon. Pray
for this committee and their
work. All big decisions will come
before the entire church.
Bright Idea?
Do you have a
bright idea for our
ministry center?
Now is the time to
share it! Dr. Keith
will receive your
thoughts and ideas. Please send him
an email: [email protected]
Do You Need Personal Prayer?
If you would like someone to pray
with you privately and confiden-
tially, you may approach the front
of the sanctuary after our wor-
ship.
Father, bless each one

our city and region. He calls us to
pray. All the men of the church
are encouraged to attend. Bring
a friend.
Bibles Available
If one of our guests needs a Bible,
copies are available at our table in
the foyer of the church. The Word
has power! Share it with a guest
to our church or a friend.
First Communion Preparation
“This is the Feast,” a 4-Sunday
study of the Lord’s Supper will
begin on Sunday, August 27, at

dren whose parents believe are

parent or grandparent is expected
to attend with their child. The

see different things than anyone
else as they see the same things
differently.” - Leonard Sweet

Missional Identity
Missional is not an activity. It’s an
identity! You are God’s woman,
man, or child. As Christians, we
are not people who “do ministry.”
We are ministers. We are not
people who “do mission.” We are
missionaries. Look for opportu-
nities to be witnesses for Christ.
Be Jesus to the world. Go!
Answered Prayers
Thank the Lord for the following:
For Brad Patterson who had suc-
cessful surgery and is home recov-
ering.
For God’s favor on Christ Lutheran
Church to be the spiritual core of
the Krejci Learning and Life Com-
munity! We have been offered oc-
cupancy on two floors of the Li-
brary.
Missional Idea
Surprise someone. Think of a
creative way to share the love of
Christ with someone by surprising
them with a gift. Point to Jesus as
the reason you chose to bless them.
Consider blessing them according
to their “love language,” (The Five
Love Languages by Gary Chapman).
That is, match the gift to the per-
son by speaking their “language” -
words of affirmation, quality time,
gifts, acts of service or physical
touch. Make someone’s day!
