Summer News Wow! Can you believe summer is almost over? It has been very event- ful to say the least. Here are just a few of the events that took place this summer: Twilight Camp What a terrific success Cub Scout Twilight Camp was this year, rain storms and all. I would like to thank all Adult Volunteers and Junior Staff who helped make it such a great event. And a shout out goes to The LDS Church for allowing us to use their building as a rain back up. If not for that we would have been sitting at home twiddling our thumbs while the park was flooded. Here are some of the stats of the week: 21 Full time Adult Staff 52 Full time Junior Staff 44 Full time Chaperones 131 Total Chaperones 20 Tot Lot 128 Visitors on Friday And last but not Least... 212 Cub Scouts Wow! Troop 86What do you get when youmix an enthusiastic campstaff, the mountains of Ar-kansas, plenty of meritbadges, and a whole weekof fun? You get Camp Pio-neer, the ultimate summercamp. At this camp you will

be treated like Boy Scoutkings, with no kp, no cook-ing, and absolutely NOSETTING UP TENTS.They also give you cots tosleep on, and they feel likethe clouds of heaven, aftersleeping on dirt and rocks

on every other campoutthis past year. Here at thiscamp they have two pools,a climbing wall, a repellingwall, a wood chapel, bothindoor and closed outdoorshowers, and a GIANTtrading post. Special activi-ties include first campfire, stunt night, a pool partynight, citizenship in thegalaxy, where they giveyou a merit badge for at-tending, burger burn, O.A.ceremony, and final camp-fire. So search for CampPioneer, Arkansas, and letthe fun begin a year later.35 boys and 7 adults fromTroop 86 attended sum-mer camp at Camp Pio-neer in July. TROOP 348This summer we went toSlippery Falls Scout Ranchfor camp. Pack 1007The slogan of Pack 1007 is,“Where the fun begins!”This summer, the fun be-gan with Twilight Camp andcontinued on Sunday, Au-gust 2 with an evening ofbowling at Hurst Lanes.Bowling is a great sport,

where it is a good thing to“strike out” and be a“turkey!” We’ll “spare”you the details, but suffice itto say that the Cubs andsiblings gave Akela somehealthy competition! It wasa fun evening for all.
