Our Speakers for this year...

Tim & Rochelle Enloe are our guest speakers for this year’s Ministers & Spouses Retreat. Since 1993, Tim & Rochelle have traveled in full-time teaching and music ministry with a special emphasis on the Holy Spirit. They are excellent communicators, authors, vocalists and song writers--but enjoy their role as parents most of all. The Enloes have three sons: Braedon, Dolan and Barret. http://enloeministries.org/

Drs Paul & Carol Alexander - Dr. Alexander is the newly elected president of Trinity

Bible College. Dr. Alexander most recently, for the past eight years, served as president

of Mattersey Hall College and Graduate School, located in Mattersey, England. This is the

Assemblies of God College in the UK. Drs. Paul and Carol Alexander have an extensive

history of pastoral, evangelistic, and ministerial experience. Dr. Alexander's PhD is from

Bangor University, Wales and it centers on a missional rationale for theological education

and training and includes a thorough examination of the interface between the church

and Christian higher education. http://www.trinitybiblecollege.edu/

Special Event: Monday afternoon will feature an open Q & A session with a familiar friend to our district, Rick Allen. Although many know Rick as one of our instructors from the Acts 2 Journey, this session is not restricted. This session is open to any and all the ministers in our district. This session will run from 1 to 5:00 PM on Monday afternoon.

From the desk of South Dakota District Secretary-Treasurer

I saw it again a few weeks ago…one of those times where someone took a huge step of faith. A person committed to give of their finances to something that was beyond their own needs, beyond their community, beyond their culture…….and beyond their financial means! I mean it was big! So big I wondered if theyʼd gone too far. I was wrong.

One day after making the financial commitment, this same person was offered a new job….a job paying more than twice what they were accustomed to receiving. They didnʼt ask for the job…..I believe God brought the job to them! I was again reminded how we absolutely cannot out-give God!

I am so grateful for the financial faithfulness of people of the Assemblies of God in South Dakota --- faithful in tithes and faithful in offerings. Because of their purposed faithfulness in giving, God blesses and the Kingdom is advanced. Faith always precedes fruit. Sometimes (often-times), itʼs stretching to our faith and our budgets, but itʼs worth it!

-! Gary WilemanSDAG Sec.-Treas.

What would happen if every volunteer in the church was able to be a part of something that helped them gain perspective of the big picture? What if every volunteer you worked with showed up excited to serve AND equipped to make a difference? What if ministry leaders would calibrate their process in such a way as to maximize their efficiency in ministry?

Running at the top of the world for BGMC

Mark Entzminger, Assemblies of God senior director of Children's Ministries and currently the interim National Youth director has a passion to reach people with the gospel message. In fact, his commitment to reaching kids and families for Christ had him doing something a little bit "crazy" to help raise thousands of dollars for BGMC (Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge).

Mark attempted to run his first-ever marathon on July 20th to raise money for BGMC missions work - in particular Hosanna church in northern Russia.  This project features missionaries that travel as far as 1,000 miles north of the Arctic Circle to share Jesus Christ with those who've never heard the gospel before.

His marathon was held in Barrow, Alaska, which is the northern-most community in the United States. "Traveling there from Springfield [Missouri] to Barrow took in excess of 15 hours and the start time for the marathon was 8:00 at night."

Mark Entzminger worked with Mark Zweifel of the Alaska Ministry Network, the local Assemblies of God church, and community leaders in Barrow to put on the marathon. The race began at 8 p.m. because there is daylight 24 hours a day during the month of July. A bonus for Mark was he likely wouldnʼt overheat during the race, as the community cozies right up to the Arctic Ocean and the daily average high in July is only 46 degrees, while the average low drops near freezing (34 degrees).

"This was truly a unique and challenging run - but it was worth every effort to help our missionaries," Mark said.  Read more about his run by clicking here.

MARK ENTZMINGER

Constant Influence As the senior director of Assemblies of God Childrenʼs Ministries, Mark Entzminger oversees Childrenʼs Ministries Agency, Royal Rangers, National Girls Ministries, and Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge. The goal is to focus a unified front the four ministriesʼ efforts to reach children with the gospel.

Mark served as South Dakotaʼs YCE director for eight years.

SDAG ROYAL RANGERSRangers has been a powerful ministry since Johnnie Barnes organized it in 1962, and two weeks ago we celebrated our 50th Anniversary! The event was held in conjunction with the 10th Camporama, at the 1500 acre Camp Eagle Rock in Southwest Missouri. Over 5200 Royal Rangers from around the nation and the world participated, Rangers from 30 countries! We took 17 men and boys to the event, and a great time was had by all! There

were over 70 activities to participate in. These included: the brand new high ropes course and climbing tower, and small bore rifle range! Godʼs presence was evident in the services held each evening. Speakers included George Wood, Alton Garrison, and Doug Marsh. Powerful altar calls resulted in many changed lives. If you missed it this year 2012 -- plan on attending Camporama 2016! It was well worth the year of planning and fundraising.

Congratulations to Aric McKnight of Outpost 13 at Calvary Temple in Spearfish, for completing his Silver Medal of Achievement! It requires a tremendous amount of effort, and great support by commanders for a Ranger to achieve this.

We continue to search for a suitable semi-permanent location for our statewide Royal Ranger campouts. If you have any ideas, or have any contacts to this end, please contact me! We look forward to the 2013 South Dakota Pow-Wow. Contact me if you have any feedback.

There are 2 training opportunities available this year. Our region will be hosting a World Class Outpost seminar in St Cloud, Minnesota on

September 7 and 8. Registration is online at the national Ranger website. The regional conference will be very close to us this year in Sioux City, Iowa. The date is October 26-27th. You will have opportunity to become a Certified Instructor to help us present training materials around the district, and to attend other Royal Ranger training as well at the meeting. I encourage all you men to grow yourselves and your ministry by participating in training events!

May God bless you for all of your time and effort put into mentoring these future men of God.

  South Dakota Team Honor Bound

In April of this year I invited a group of pastors and laymen from across the state for a time of prayer and vision casting for the future of men's ministry for South Dakota.  I'm excited about the plans that we're making for the future.  Our theme for this next year is Brotherhood.  Brotherhood is defined as: a state of relationship, an association of men united for a common purpose.

Our speaker for the Men's Advance is Randy McPherson.  Randy is a successful entrepreneur businessman and dynamic speaker.  Randy often travels representing Matthew's Archery, which is owned by Randy's brother Matt.  Our 2013 Men's Advance is scheduled for March 21-23 at a location yet to be determined on the east side of South Dakota.

Thank you Pastors and Leaders for all you do.  Together for Christ, David WinterTeam Honor Bound Director

RESERVATION MINISTRY IS NEVER, EVER DULL!

All Tribes Fellowship on the Yankton Sioux Res. in Wagner has been praying for two years for Childrenʼs Pastors. THAT PRAYER has been answered through Revs Randy & Rebecca Jensen. Rebecca is a Special Ed Teacher at Wagner Community School. Now to see what all God has in store for leadership at Lower Brule.

Lower Brule Faith Family AG welcomes the Lacho Family. For quite a number of years now Roman, Barca and their three children have been coming to Lower Brule on tourist visas. Now they have applied for a three year visa which hopefully will be approved within the next few weeks if not days. Much prayer and many hours of labor have gone into getting them approved for the visa. Roman and Barca are the “second” missionary family to be sent OUT from the Slovakian Assembly of God (Apostolic) ministry. T

All Nations Worship Center in Mission on the Rosebud Reservation, Pastors Johnny & Heidi Wade, kicked off the “Metro Kids Ministry” this summer. Amazing teams came to work with them and the kids. Congratulations on this New Ministry!

John and Gay Davis have had very busy spring classes with people from 4 different reservation churches. While Skype is used for some of the more distant classes, face to face classes are held whenever practical. The class pictured to the left, is about applying lessons from Acts of the Apostles in the local church. It is being taught in the church at Oglala on Pine Ridge Reservation.

Oglala Rec had a great summer! Many mission groups came from as far as north Vermont and as close as Watertown, SD. There were a lot of familiar faces and a lot of new ones. The community in Oglala was blessed with many ministry opportunities and many physical needs were met. There was a baptismal service at Angostura Reservoir where13 of the newest church members were baptized. It was a beautiful day celebrating Life, Love and of course, Jesus.

Itʼs the time of year the district begins encouraging our Certified and Licensed ministers to move to the next level of their credentials. As we move up to Licensure and then the honor

of Ordination, we as ministers gain that sense of greater accomplishment in our leadership roll. We are also more of a role model to future ministers. Here in South Dakota we are privileged to have IMD (Institute for Ministry Development). You can Skype these classes, Dr. John Davis will come and work with you personally or you may choose to work on your own at your own pace. Either way, you are increasing in knowledge and accomplishment. As an Assemblies of God minister, especially a lead pastor, the Ordination process is one of high honor in our Fellowship. There are three levels of credentials with the Assemblies of God:First: Certified MinisterSecond: Licensed Minister and Third: Ordained Minister

Below is a description of each level of credentials:

Certified Minister• Complete educational requirements• Pass credential exam• Devote part-time to Christian Ministry• Preach minimum of 12 times per year• Remain under the supervision of a designated

supervisorMinisterial License• Clear evidence of a Divine call• Complete educational courses• Pass credential exam• Preach minimum of 15 times per yearOrdained Minister• Licensed credential for two years• Complete educational courses• Pass credential exam• Preach minimum of 15 times per year• Full time ministry• Applicant must be at least 23 years of ageLocal ChurchPrayerfully consider your credential upgrade this year. Itʼs not too late. Contact us at [email protected] for paperwork.
