And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternallife, and this life is in his Son (1 John 5:11).

IIf you’re born again you have the God-life in you; thisis a statement of fact; God has set His seal to this.

Notice the tenses in our opening verse: “ AndAnd thisthis isis thetherecord,record, thatthat GodGod hathhath givengiven toto usus eternaleternal life….”life….” He isn’t tryingto, hoping to or planning to; He’s already done it. You haveeternal life now.

This life isn’t the human life, but the God-kind of life;the essence of divinity. The Word of God is definite andemphatic as to where this life is and how to get it: it’s inChrist Jesus. Anyone who has received Christ has receivedthe God-life. This life can’t be found in any of the religions ofthe world. Until you confess the Lordship of Jesus over yourlife, and are catapulted into the glorious realms of salvation,you don’t have the God-life. What you have is the human,biological life (Greek: psuche). This human life is subject tosatanic influences, sickness, disease, and the elements of thisworld.

However, if you have the Son, happy are you! It meansyou have His indestructible and incorruptible life in you. Youdon’t ever have to be afraid of the devil or his cohorts. TheSon of God, whom you’ve received, destroyed the works ofthe devil in your life, family, job and physical body (1 John3:8). He paralyzed Satan, rendered him helpless, and gaveyou a life that’s superior to him.

Meditate on this truth. Having received Christ, you’vereceived the Light of life; the darkness is gone forever. Yourlife is now supernatural; therefore, rule over circumstances.

WWhen you want to chart a new course, create newvistas, attain a new level of prosperity, or set new

goals for growth, you have to learn to use your mind. Yourmind is a tool that can be disciplined. You can teach it tofocus in one direction, instead of vacillating in thoughts. Thisway, you’ll be able to use your mind to prepare your heart toaccomplish greater things. Isaiah 26:3 says, “Thou“Thou wiltwilt keepkeephimhim inin perfectperfect peace,peace, whosewhose mindmind isis stayedstayed onon thee:thee: becausebecausehehe trustethtrusteth inin thee.”thee.” By staying your mind on the Lord, you’redisciplining your mind to focus on the Word of Godconcerning you and what you’re doing. The result is thatyou’ll experience the extraordinary peace of God that givesrest and prosperity.

Take your mind away from anything and everythingthat distracts, and focus your attention on God. Choose toonly be around those who love the Lord, and discuss onlywith those who’ll inspire you. Keep away from people who’lldeflate your faith, and try to talk you out of what you want toachieve. Set time aside for study and meditation on the Word.To stay your mind on God, you have to stay your mind on HisWord. TThe lack, poverty, sicknesses, diseases, andwickedness in the world aren’t essentially the

reasons most people suffer. The greater problem has to dowith their minds; their thinking. Their minds have to bereprogrammed for success, with God’s Word. Until thathappens, it makes no difference where you place them,where they go, and what happens to them; they’ll keep failing.

You can reprogramme your mind with informationfrom God’s Word. For example, 2 Corinthians 5:17 says,“Therefore“Therefore ifif anyany manman bebe inin Christ,Christ, hehe isis aa newnew creation:creation: oldoldthingsthings areare passedpassed away;away; behold,behold, allall thingsthings areare becomebecome new.”new.”This is information from the Word for you to think upon.You’re not the same old person that hitherto experiencedfailure, stagnation etc.; that creature is dead; you’re full ofsuccess and the life of God!

Perhaps you were told that you were born with anincurable disease; that’s not a factor anymore, because youhave the life of God in you now. No sickness, disease, orinfirmity can thrive in your body. Your way of thinking haschanged; you have new information; spiritual informationfrom God’s Word that has reprogrammed your way ofthinking, and your life is thus transformed.

When your mind is programmed for success, you don’tjoin others to complain of hard times. Instead, you think ofyourself as a success, and a light in a dark world, irrespective

of the surrounding situation. It doesn’t matter how bad theeconomy of the country where you live might get; you’rethe seed of Abraham. Your prosperity isn’t predicated on theeconomy of your country. Let this be your thinking.

AAnyone who wants to have a good standard forpraying ought to emulate Jesus. Studying His

prayer life, I observed what He did that the religious people ofhis day didn’t do, for which reason He had such outstandingresults in prayer: He separated the labour of prayer from thefellowship of prayer. There’s such a thing as “prayer labour” or“prayer work”; you can literally count the number of timesJesus prayed this way. However, His prayer fellowship is whatwe really need to emulate; that’s what was different about Hisprayer life.

His prayer labour wasn’t different from that of the greatprophets who came before Him. Moses, Joshua, Elijah, Elisha,David, etc., all prayed, and their prayers are chronicled forus in Scripture. But there was something that they didn’thave, which the Lord Jesus brought in: living in the Father’spresence in continual fellowship. This was different; this wasnew. Jesus lived in the Father’s presence, in continualfellowship.

The early prophets didn’t have this, because theycouldn’t. If they could, they would have, because they lovedGod. Nevertheless, the reason they couldn’t was that theydidn’t have the enablement of the Holy Spirit. Jesus did. Noone can walk in such extraordinary fellowship with the Fatherexcept by the Holy Spirit. It’s His ministry and delight to bringus into that place of constant and continual fellowship withthe Father .

That’s why the Apostle Paul, by the Spirit, prayed thusin our opening verse. That wasn’t given to us just to recite asclosing benediction during our church services and meetings.It was a revelation. The Father is in heaven, the Lord Jesus isin heaven, but the Holy Spirit is here with us on earth. He’sin us and with us. In Him, we have the presence of Jesus andthe Father. He doesn’t come and go; we have become Hisdwelling place. He lives in us and has become part of ourday-to-day existence. He talks to us all the time. As we listento Him, we’re guided, instructed, led in the path of excellence,glory, dominion, and power.

fromfrom it.”it.” Imagine that as a Christian parent or a minister of theGospel, your son or daughter isn’t living according to thetraining that you gave him or her in the Word. There may besome who’d be quick to judge and say, “So-and-so’s parentsare Christians, yet he behaves like a sinner.” If this happenedto you as a parent, don’t be moved by what others may besaying.

Challenges come to everybody; so at the time you’refacing your own challenges, stay focused on God’s Word, andput your faith to work. Soon enough, that child will comeinto the right place and be all that God destined for himto be. Even the time others might have thought he lost willbe regained, because God said, “And“And II willwill restorerestore toto youyouthethe yearsyears thatthat thethe locustlocust hathhath eaten,eaten, thethe cankercanker worm,worm, andandthethe caterpillar,caterpillar, andand thethe palmerpalmer worm…”worm…” (Joel 2:25). So insuch matters, don’t allow the negative sentiments of othersdissipate your faith.

God gave us His Word so that no matter what wesee or hear, we’re not distracted; we stay focused. After all,as students, we were not Doctors, Lawyers, and Architectswhilst in the university. We were in school, being trained forwhat we were going to be. If someone saw you while still inschool and said, “Hey, you don’t look like a Doctor, Lawyeror Architect,” you’d probably have replied, “I don’t look like it

yet, because I’m in training for it.”In like manner, we’re all still being trained by the Spirit

of God through the Word to be all He’s destined us to be.If you already have children, keep training them in the Word.Even when it looks like they’re not imbibing the culture of theWord, keep at it. Recall what we read in Proverbs 22:6, “Train“Trainupup aa childchild inin thethe wayway hehe shouldshould go:go: andand whenwhen hehe isis old,old, hehe willwillnotnot departdepart fromfrom it.”it.” Give some time; the results of the trainingwill be evident.

Never give up your faith because of the negativeopinions of gainsayers; learn to live by the Word. No matterwhat you see or experience, your faith will triumph. Glory toGod!

Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children(Ephesians 5:1).

TThe word “followers” is translated from the Greek“mimetes” which means “imitators.” It’s suggestive

of following someone as a pattern, model or an example. It’sakin to going after somebody, following how he does what hedoes. So, in actual context, it can be rendered, “Be yetherefore imitators of God.” It means copy Him, act and talklike Him, because you’re like Him. Someone might ask, “Isn’tthat going too far, to say we’re like God?”

Well, we didn’t even know it until God told us so in HisWord, through the Apostle John: “Herein“Herein isis ourour lovelove mademadeperfect,perfect, thatthat wewe maymay havehave boldnessboldness inin thethe dayday ofof judgment:judgment:becausebecause asas hehe is,is, soso areare wewe inin thisthis worldworld ”” (1 John 4:17).You’re not inferior to God, neither are you His counterfeit;just like Jesus, you’re the express image of His Person; theWord says as He (Jesus) is, so are we in this world. We’re likeHim now.

This consciousness would give you the audacity toheal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, and be ablessing to the world, just like Jesus! It’ll inspire extraordinarycompassion in you to preach the Gospel, and win the lost thesame way He did. Consider the account in Luke 7:12-15. TheBible tells us how the Master was moved by a widow’s cry,whose only son had died and was being carried for burial. TheLord, full of love and compassion, raised the young man backto life.

Like the Master, you must back compassion withaction. Express the love of God to others. Romans 5:5 says,

TThere’re certain truths about the new creation which,as Christians, we must be conscious of and live by.

These are not promises but established truths in God’sWord—present hour realities. One of such is our openingverse above. When you received Christ into your life, youbecame a new creation. “If any man be in Christ, he ‘is’ a newcreation.” “Is” is a “now” word—a present-hour reality! You’renot going to be a new creation when you get to heaven;you’re a new creation now! Your new life started the day youmade Jesus Lord of Your life.

An important truth in our Kingdom is about the Wordas God’s cleansing material and agent of change. Jesus said inJohn 15:3, “Now“Now yeye areare cleanclean throughthrough thethe wordword whichwhich II havehavespokenspoken untounto you.”you.” It doesn’t matter the depth of a man’s sin;if he would give attention to God’s Word, he’ll be cleansed.God’s Word cleanses your system of all unrighteousness andevery anomaly, sickness and disease inclusive.

Another of such glorious realities is that we’re heirs ofGod, and joint-heirs with Christ! “And“And ifif children,children, thenthen heirs;heirs;heirsheirs ofof God,God, andand joint-heirsjoint-heirs withwith Christ;Christ; ifif soso bebe thatthat wewe suffersufferwithwith him,him, thatthat wewe maymay bebe alsoalso glorifiedglorified together”together” (Romans8:17). To be a joint-heir with Christ means everything thatbelongs to Him belongs to you, in the same way and degreethat it belongs to Him. Both of you own everything hundredper cent together. Therefore, like Him, you’ve also beenappointed heir of all things. No wonder Paul said, “…all“…all thingsthings

EExodus 34 tells us how Moses had been in thepresence of God for forty days and forty nights,

receiving the “Ten Commandments.” The commandmentswere few sentences that ordinarily, shouldn’t require a wholeday to pen down. So, why did Moses stay forty days and fortynights to receive them? It was because, to Moses, theyweren’t mere “Commandments”; they were life.

Afterwards, as Moses stepped down from mount Sinai,Aaron and all the people looked at him and saw that hisface shone with the glory of God, and they were afraid to gonear him (Exodus 34:30). There was such radiance of glory,emanating from the face of Moses that he had to use a veilto cover his face, because the people couldn’t stand the gloryof God. How did the glory rub off on him that much? It wasfrom meditating on what God said.

Moses contemplated God’s Word so much that hedidn’t know his face was radiating with the glory (Greek:doxa) of God. The Word of God is where the glory is. TheWord made such impression on Moses that it impacted hisphysical body. From then on, when Moses went to pray, hetook off the veil. But when he came out to the people, hecovered his face.

WWhat should matter the most in your life should beyour love for God and those for whom Jesus

died. This will make you think differently about God andabout people. You’ll have a love-language, and not bejudgmental towards people. The compassions of Christ will beunlocked within you, and you’ll find yourself functioning inhigher levels of the anointing. You’ll become a helper and alifter of others; one who is touched and moved by theinfirmities of others, so much so that you want them well.

Love will inspire and compel you to intercedepassionately for the sick and hurting, the lost, and also forthose who persecute you and have set themselves up as yourenemies. Your prayer for them will be from deep within yourspirit; that’s the prayer of love; it’s unselfish and unconditional.The Word says while we were yet sinners, God demonstratedHis love for us: “But“But GodGod commendethcommendeth hishis lovelove towardtoward us,us, ininthat,that, whilewhile wewe werewere yetyet sinners,sinners, ChristChrist dieddied forfor us”us” (Romans5:8). Jesus died for us, not after we became Christians, butwhen we didn’t even know God. If He loved us so, in spite ofour wrongdoings, we should do the same.

This should be your consciousness; function in love.True faith works by love (Galatians 5:6). Love should thereforebe the character of your life, language and expressions. Loveisn’t a subject to be merely discussed or explained in theory;it’s something to be lived and expressed. Let your heart burnwith the love of God, and express it not only to God, but alsoto those for whom Jesus died.

OOur opening scripture describes the pathetic fate ofthose who are ignorant of God’s Word. They die

like mere men, and fall like one of the princes, because oftheir lack of knowledge and understanding of spiritualrealities. However, such folks can experience immediatetransformation when they apply the principle for change,which the Lord Jesus taught in Matthew 13:15. What happens when you hear, know, and understandthe Word is that the healing power of God worksautomatically in your life; you’ll function as gods! In Acts19:11-12, we read that handkerchiefs and aprons were takenfrom the body of Paul. When those materials were placedon the sick and demon possessed, miracles happened; thedemons left; sicknesses, no matter what kind, were healed.

Paul experienced such tremendous manifestations ofthe miraculous because he had come to know andunderstand something that others in his day didn’t. It wasPaul who wrote what we read in 2 Corinthians 3:18, in our

previous study, showing us that the glory of God that wason Moses’ face has come to reside in our spirits. He wasthe same Apostle who wrote that the Spirit of Him thatraised up Jesus from the dead, dwells in you, and hasquickened—vitalized—your mortal body.

These would tell you of the understanding of the man,Paul and his comprehension (Greek: sunesis) of the Gospel ofChrist. This ought to be your knowledge and understandingof the mysteries of Christ as well. TThe Lord Jesus never exaggerated; He spokeabsolute reality. What He said in our opening verse

is something you should consciously demonstrate or prove,knowing that the one who said it, never lied to anyone. You’reto lay hands on the sick to receive healing; you have theability in the Name of Jesus.

The Lord Jesus will be remiss to ask you to dosomething you couldn’t do, or for which He hasn’t enabledyou. He said in Matthew 10:8, “Heal“Heal thethe sick,sick, cleansecleanse thethelepers,lepers, raiseraise thethe dead,dead, castcast outout devils….”devils….” This is for everybeliever in Christ; step out in faith and take healing and healthto the people in your world, and in the regions beyond.Someone might however lament, “When I pray for people,they get healed, but when I get sick I’m not able to helpmyself.”

Many have found themselves in this dilemma. It’ssimilar to what happened to Elisha who was so anointed ofGod, but died sick. In 2 Kings 13:20-21, some men wereabout to bury a man when they spotted some raiders. Hastily,they tossed the corpse into the sepulcher that contained theremains of Elisha. As soon as the dead body came in contactwith Elisha’s bones, the dead man came back to life (2 Kings13:21). This happened long after Elisha was dead; his bonesretained the anointing!

Though Elisha died sick, God’s power in him didn’tfail. We can conclude that it was Elisha that didn’t apply

IIwant you to understand the language of the Spirit inour opening verse. Why would Jesus say, “If a man

loves me, my Father will love him?” Didn’t the Father alreadylove everybody? The Bible says, “For“For GodGod soso lovedloved thethe world,world,thatthat hehe gavegave hishis onlyonly begottenbegotten Son,Son, thatthat whosoeverwhosoever believethbelievethinin himhim shouldshould notnot perish,perish, butbut havehave everlastingeverlasting life”life” (John 3:16).Jesus came because the Father already loved everybody. So,what other love is He referring to here? He’s dealing withfellowship; love grows with fellowship.

When you recognize and reciprocate love, you getmore love. As you reciprocate the Father’s love, He furtherdemonstrates His love for you in a peculiar way; He’ll showthe world that He loves you. Having believed in the LordJesus, one of the most beautiful things you should crave andpractise is rich fellowship with Him. It should be your lifestyle,because there’s no love without fellowship.

Fellowship means oneness of spirit; a sharing orcommuning together. 1 Corinthians 1:9 says, “God“God isis faithful,faithful,byby whomwhom yeye werewere calledcalled untounto thethe fellowshipfellowship ofof hishis SonSonJesusJesus ChristChrist ourour Lord.”Lord.” 1 John 1:3 says, “…truly“…truly ourour fellowshipfellowshipisis withwith thethe Father,Father, andand withwith hishis SonSon JesusJesus Christ.”Christ.” We’vebeen called into fellowship with the Lord, and there can beno fellowship without communication. Commune with Himoften, and seek His thoughts, opinions, counsel and guidancein all your endeavours. This is something you do consciouslyin response to His love.

The Hebrew word translated “borne” in Isaiah 53:4 is“nasah,” and it means, “to take or carry away,” while theword “bare” in Matthew 8:17, is translated from the Greek“bastazo”, which also means “to remove or to take away.”Both words connote taking the burden of another upononeself, and carrying it away, which is what Jesus did with oursicknesses and diseases.

IIf you want to experience a greater manifestation ofthe Spirit of God in your life, love is the way. Walk in

love. Love is the “more excellent way.” The love of God inyou can be so palpable that it literally radiates through youreyes. There’s no telling what the Lord can do in, and through,you when you radiate His love, so much so that it’s seen inyour eyes.

When I got a hold of this many years ago, I becamemore conscious of what the Lord could do through me,with my eyes burning with love. Once, I was invited to aconference where I had to minister to the sick. I asked thatthey all be on a straight line. I didn’t touch any of them; Ionly looked at them, knowing that as I stood there, Christ waslooking through my eyes. The demons couldn’t stay. Each oneof them received healing instantly, just by me looking at them.

Through the years, I’ve met several of those who werehealed in that very meeting, and they never forgot it. Theyrecalled how a look of love dispelled their infirmities, becausethere’s something about us. There’s something that worksthrough us. It’s the power of God’s love.

Our eyes are windows of the Spirit through which Godlooks at others with love. Treat people with compassion; seethem with the eyes of love. Let love be more than a topic toyou; let it be life. Relate to people in a way that they can seeand feel your love. People were attracted to Jesus, not justbecause He was a miracle worker, but because they couldsee that He loved them. They felt His love, including little

IIt’s not enough to know the Word of God in yourheart; you have to speak it forth as well—that’s how it

works! The original Hebrew rendering of the word “meditate” is“hagah,” which means to ponder, roar, imagine, murmur,mutter, speak, talk, or utter. It’s much more than thinking theWord; you have to voice it!

The opening verse shows us that speaking out whatyou believe is a fundamental spiritual principle without whichthe gift of salvation can’t be received. The salvation packageis delivered upon satisfying two conditions: the first is“believing,” while the second is the “confession” of that whichyou’ve believed. Both work together for salvation to becomplete.

In the same way, to live the glorious life in Christ,where you enjoy all the benefits of salvation, you must keepthe Word in your mouth always. You must believe and speak.Some people find themselves in unpleasant situations andsay, “I believe the Word of God, but I don’t know why things

GGod said through the prophet Hosea that Hispeople are destroyed, defeated and broken

This, therefore, means that as God’s children, wemust keep making conscious efforts to learn and be taughtGod’s Word. If you have more accurate knowledge of theWord, you’ll live in victory and dominion every day of yourlife, irrespective of any adversity.

Some people think that living in constant victory anddominion isn’t possible, and they’re wrong. To hold such abelief is to ignore what Jesus came to do. He came to giveus the life and nature of God: the transcendent life. In John10:10 (NIV), He said, “The“The thiefthief comescomes onlyonly toto stealsteal andand killkillandand destroy;destroy; II havehave comecome thatthat theythey maymay havehave life,life, andand havehaveitit toto thethe full.”full.” He didn’t come to establish another religion,because the world already had enough of them before Hecame, and Christianity is not a religion. TThe Prophet Isaiah was speaking to God in the verseabove. Israel was in dire straits because none sought

the Lord; no one stirred himself up to “take a hold” of God.That means, as Christians, we can stir ourselves up to take ahold of God, to take a hold of His words, and make them realin our lives, through prevailing prayers.

It brings to mind, Jacob’s encounter with the Angelof God’s presence. After His sojourn with his Uncle Laban,Jacob knew he needed a miracle to escape his brother, Esau’swrath, having deceived their father, Isaac, to obtain theinheritance in place of Esau. Jacob divided his family andeverything he had into two groups and sent them aheadof him to entreat Esau such that, if Esau smote a particulargroup, the other group, perhaps, could escape and be spared(Genesis 32:4-8).

Subsequently, Jacob was left alone, and the Bible sayshe wrestled with an angel all night long. Jacob wouldn’t let goof the angel until he received a blessing from Him (Genesis32:24-26). AAs you study the entire book of Galatians, you’dunderstand why Paul made the statement above,

chiding the Galatian Christians: they had strayed from themessage of the Gospel, the Word of faith, which they hadreceived. Some false teachers came, teaching them that theyhad to obey the Law to be justified; as a result, their faithbegan to waver. Decrying their deviation from the message offaith, Paul asked them, “…having“…having begunbegun inin thethe Spirit,Spirit, areare yeyenownow mademade perfectperfect byby thethe fleshflesh ?”

He wanted them to remember how they received theHoly Spirit; it wasn’t through obedience to the Law, butby faith. From the natural standpoint, God’s instruction was animpossible feat for Joshua and the children of Israel. Thethickness of the walls of Jericho was such that houses werebuilt on them. But Joshua followed the Lord’s instructions andthe result was victory for the children of Israel.

Our opening verse says to receive instruction and notsilver. The Word of God is God’s instruction manual for anextraordinary life of glory, dominion, and victory; so don’tneglect the Word. (Proverbs 4:13). Don’t complain when you receive spiritualinstructions, because with such instructions, come the abilityto accomplish whatever God tells you to do.

Be conscious of this when responsibilities are givenyou, especially in the house of God. Once you’ve receivedthe instruction to do something, recognize that you’vereceived the ability for that task. Stir up the wisdom of Godin you through speaking in tongues, and you’ll see pictures ofpossibilities and visions of success; the Holy Spirit will showyou what to do, and how to accomplish the task.

SSome define thoughts as imaginations, but thoughtsare more than imaginations. Imaginations are

pictures or images of the mind that interpret your thoughts.Thoughts are powerful; they can deliver to you a glorious life,or keep you on the sideline of life. The Bible says as a manthinks in his heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:7). You’re thecharacter of your thoughts.

If you’d let the Word dominate your thinking, it’ll giveyou the right mindset of victory, success, and dominion, withvisions of limitless possibilities. Romans 12:2 says, “And“And bebenotnot conformedconformed toto thisthis world:world: butbut bebe yeye transformedtransformed byby thetherenewingrenewing ofof youryour mind….”mind….” When your thoughts are consistentwith the provisions of God’s Word, your life will be areflection of His glory, for the glory is in the Word.

Consider Joshua; the Lord said to him, “…See,“…See, II havehavegivengiven intointo thinethine handhand Jericho,Jericho, andand thethe kingking thereof,thereof, andand thethemightymighty menmen ofof valour”valour” (Joshua 6:1-2). How was he supposedto see the victory ahead of the battle? It was with the power ofHis mind, his thoughts and imaginations. If Joshua hadn’t seenthe victory in his mind, Israel would never have possessedJericho.

What does that tell you? It means, the extent of yourvision is the boundary of your blessing. How far you can seewith your mind, through the power of thoughts, is how muchyou will possess.

TThe verses above reveal the dangerous plight of theunbeliever. He is in spiritual darkness and is

alienated; that is, cut off from the life of God. Ephesians 2:3further refers to them as children of wrath. That meanschildren appointed unto the wrath or anger of God. What aterrible state for anyone to be! Ephesians 2:12 refers to themas “hopeless and without God in the world.”

While still a student on campus, many years ago, I readthis portion of Scripture and it got me thinking. I consideredthe students on campus that were living without God, andthought, “Dear Lord, how could anyone live in such darkness?How could they go to bed at night, and live another daywithout God?”

I was moved with compassion and began to intercedefor them: “O, God, don’t let them die and go to hell withoutreceiving Christ. Help me to reach them, and tell them aboutJesus,” I’d pray. I felt constrained to tell them about Jesus,because nothing could be more damning than living withoutGod and having no hope in the world! This should makeyou think about your friends, relatives, colleagues, neighboursand associates that aren’t born again. They’re hopeless in theworld, without Christ.

You can’t afford to let them keep living without God,drifting farther and farther into the abyss of darkness. Letthe hopelessness of their situation compel you to intercedefor them. Pray that they’d be delivered from the domain ofdarkness and the power of Satan unto the glorious libertyof the sons of God. You may be the only one with theopportunity to touch their lives with the Gospel. Therefore,preach to them and teach them the Word. Tell them Godloves them so much He sent Jesus to die for them (John 3:16).

Contribute your time, effort, and resources tosoul-winning. Be known for your passion for the Lord, HisGospel, and the souls of men.

TThere’s a remarkable lesson for us to learn from theattitude of Michael the archangel, when he disputed

with Satan over the body of Moses. Michael, with all hispower and glory, couldn’t dare bring an accusation againstSatan, an evil personality. This was because he recognizedthat Satan had Adamic authority, which is higher than angelicauthority. Adam lost his authority to Satan when he ate of thefruit God had instructed him not to.

As a result, Michael could only rebuke Satan in theName of the Lord, a higher authority. This is very instructiveon how we’re to relate to spiritual authority as God’s children.You should never criticize, dishonor or speak against thosewhom the Lord has placed in positions of authority. That’sthe way I’ve lived; I don’t say things against God’s people,especially ministers of the Gospel, because they carry theauthority of God .

IIn Matthew 1:18, the Lord Jesus; while still in thewomb of the Virgin Mary, was called the child of the

Holy Spirit. Then in our opening verse, we read that the LordJesus called the Holy Spirit the Father that dwells in Him,identifying Him (the Holy Spirit) as the One who does themiracles. Furthermore, in John 8:38, He said, “I“I speakspeak thatthatwhichwhich II havehave seenseen withwith mymy Father….”Father….”

It’s thus clear that Jesus walked in union with the Fatherin an extraordinary way. He did nothing independent of theHoly Spirit. If you have received the Holy Spirit into you, your bodyis His temple (1 Corinthians 6:19). It’s therefore important thatyou walk in union with the Father that lives in you. WWe’re in the last days, therefore the activities of theantichrists referenced in our opening verses are

already happening. Many have come in their own names,with false doctrines. A false doctrine isn’t essentially theopposite of the true Gospel, but a perversion of it. Itsobjective is to deceive and lure men into believing a lie,instead of the true Gospel of our Lord Jesus.

As a child of God, however, you need not worry aboutthe cunning craftiness of antichrists, false preachers andteachers, because you’re anointed of God, and thereforecan’t be deceived. The Word says, you have an unction fromthe Holy One, and you know all things. The anointing of theHoly Spirit that’s on your life safeguards you and helps youdiscern the right teaching of the Gospel from false doctrines.

FFor you to live a joyful life, and be the full expressionof the will, righteousness, and glory of God, you

have to know the Word for yourself and live by it. Those whodon’t know the Word of God can hardly fulfill God’s desireand plans for their lives. The Word of God made you (1 Peter1:23), and except you live by the Word, you’ll not be the“you” that God dreamed of, nor fulfil His destiny for you. Thisis why we teach the Word and encourage God’s children tobe students of the Word. You must know the Word foryourself.

Don’t live on the basis of assumptions. Don’t letpeople influence you with their “religious” opinion of God.Don’t accept that something is from God just because itsounds good, nice or religious.

TThe Apostle Paul points out some deep truths in ouropening scripture, which I’ll like you to notice. First,

he lets us know that God has a family that’s named after Him.Some members of this glorious family are in heaven whilesome others are in the earth. TThe Holy Spirit, speaking through the Prophet Isaiah,didn’t only foretell of the coming of the Messiah as

an offering for sin, but also that He shall see His “seed,” whoshall prolong His days. The seed of Jesus is the Church. So,through the Church, the Lord Jesus prolongs His days. Jesuscame into this world, lived in this world, conquered this world,died, was buried, resurrected, and ascended to heaven. ButHis life continues today through us. We’re the ones living outHis life today. He’s living through everyone that’s born again.
