TWENTY-FIRST SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

FAITH FORMATION NEWS

A MESSAGE FROM OUR NEW COORDINATOR, NAN KRAMER:

Coming Home... A Journey It was back in the early 90's at this very place, where I professed my faith. It was here, where I began my journey as a disciple, to help spread the Good News of our Lord and Savior and the development of an intimate relationship with Jesus. It has been an amazing journey to share Jesus' mission as a Catechist, Youth Minister, Assistant Coordinator and Coordinator of Faith Formation. I am grateful and excited, and look forward to working together with the Staff, the multitude of volunteers and families of St. Stanislaus Kostka. - Nan Kramer

ATTENTION PARENTS OF PRE-K 4 & KINDERGARTEN CHILDREN

CATECHESIS OF THE GOOD SHEPHERD IS RETURNING IN THE FALL!!!

Once again this fall, our Faith Formation program will be offering Pre-K 4 and Kindergarten children of our parish the opportunity to come to know Jesus through the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. This special approach to faith formation is based on the conviction that God and the child are in relationship. Each child has a deep need to experience and a special capacity to enjoy the

presence of God. There is a falling in love that takes place between God and the child when the environment, materials, and catechists are all prepared in such a way that the most vital needs of the child are met. We are so blessed here at St. Stan’s to have such an environment, called the Atrium, filled with specially hand-made materials for the children to work with in nurturing this relationship with Jesus through the person of the Good Shepherd. It is a special opportunity for all our littles ones to experience. We hope you will prayerfully consider registering your child to be part of this deep faith-filled journey with God. Classes will begin in the fall and will be held on Sundays (schedule TBA) from 9:30 – 10:45am in the Faith Formation building. If you are interested in registering your child or have questions about the program, please contact the Faith Formation office and be sure to look for our displays outlining this special experience.

Class size is limited, so don’t delay! “The Good Shepherd calls His own sheep by name

and leads them out.” – John 10:3 Is God calling your child to join His flock?

FROM THE DESK OF FATHER BACKES...

HOLY COMMUNION FOR THOSE WITH A GLUTEN ALLERGY...

If you, or someone in your family, has a gluten allergy, and if you have stopped receiving communion because of it, we can now offer “low gluten” hosts or other suggestions to you. Please come to a meeting on Tuesday evening, August 27th at 7:30 PM to find out what alternatives we may be able to offer you and also to find out why the solution is more involved than “conventional wisdom” would like it to be so that we can work together to make communion possible for you once again. To help us make plans, please let the office know that you are planning to attend this meeting.

LOOKING FOR ASSISTANCE...

ST. STAN'S NEEDS YOU... From time to time, there are things that need to be done before Mass begins or things to be handed out/picked up at the end of Mass. Most of the time, we try to stop a familiar face and ask them to help. Unfortunately, this is not the best way to do things. It was suggested that we might try to address this by putting together a list of 5 or 6 people who are normally at a certain Mass that we can call upon whenever this need might arise and who we could train to do things in the most efficient ways. This would not be a weekly thing, but on a “when needed” basis. We could also use that list to help us begin a Ministry of Hospitality and Welcoming for our parish. Let us know if you would like to help and the Mass you normally attend, and we will get together after Labor Day to work out a plan for this. Please let the Office know of your interest before Labor Day weekend. Thanks!

REMINDER THAT FORMED has wonderful content for any age. Consider taking time to learn something new about

a saint or a church teaching as you relax a bit over the summer. Go to https://formed.org.
