following sentence.

Objective: To participate actively in a song; to elaborate on a song’s lyrics; to identify rhyming words

We read a story called “Let’s Tap!” In this story, what do you think the

dancers did to show they were happy? We are going to read and sing a song

today. The song is “If Your Happy And You Know It.” The first time we will sing it the normal way. The second time, we

will change the verses.

nowLook at the word let’s. This word is known as a contraction.

The word let’s means let us. The apostrophe in the word replaces the u.

You can sometimes predict what will happen in a story. Remember when we read the story “Jamaica Tag-Along,” we predicted what her brother would say about playing

with her. We knew this because we have all had experiences with our little brothers or sisters.

We are going to look today at writing some sentences. We are going to write about what we can do. As we look
