began working on the Hope Mills
Congestion Management Plan. The
firm is currently performing data
collection and validation before
meeting with stakeholders and the
public. The first public meeting for
the plan will take place on
September 12 at 6:00 pm at the
Hope Mills Recreation Center.

Planning Organization has started
project prioritization again. Under
the Strategic Prioritization Office of
T r a n s p o r t a t i o n ( S P O T ) ,
prioritization occurs every two
years. This cycle is version 5.0.
FAMPO is currently reviewing and
determining which projects will be
carried forward for submission into
SPOT 5.0. If you have questions or

Upcoming Public Feedback Opportunities
August 14 - 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm: FAMPO will host a SPOT 5.0 and Metropolitan Transportation
Improvement Program (MTIP) project public review. The public is welcome to give their input on
proposed projects for prioritization in SPOT 5.0 and also give their feedback on the FAMPO
MTIP. The meeting will be held at the Kiwanis Recreation Center at 352 Devers Street in
Fayetteville.
August 15 - 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm: FAMPO will host a second SPOT 5.0 and Metropolitan Transpor-
tation Improvement Program (MTIP) project public review. The public is welcome to give their
input on proposed projects for prioritization in SPOT 5.0 and also give their feedback on the FAM-
PO MTIP. The meeting will be held at the Harnett County Commons Area at 309 W Cornelius
Harnett Boulevard in Lillington.
September 12 - 6:00 pm: FAMPO will host the first Hope Mills Congestion Management Plan pub-
lic meeting at the Hope Mills Recreation Center at 5770 Rockfish Road in Hope Mills. The Kittel-
son Planning Group will head up the meeting and will present their existing conditions findings
while getting feedback from the public on their opinions and observations.

FAMPO is pleased to welcome it’s newest staff member, Ms. Katrina Evans. Ms.
Evans comes to FAMPO from the Cumberland County Community Transporta-
tion Program and will serve as FAMPO’s Administrative Coordinator. Ms. Ev-
ans is a Fayetteville native and has an Associates Degree in Business Admin-
istration and Human Resource Management from Fayetteville Technical Com-
munity College as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and
Human Resource Management from Southern New Hampshire University. She
is also currently working on her Masters Degree in Management.

Regional Bicycle Plan Update
The Regional Bike Plan for the “Sandhills” Region is coming up. The North Carolina
Board of Transportation approved the funding for the plan at their April meeting.
Staff is currently working on a Request for Proposals to solicit a professional firm to
carry out the plan.
