1916, the AIF 5th Division suffered 5,533 casualties at Fromelles, with many diggers remaining unaccounted for. Following the discovery of a mass grave in 2008, 250 Allied soldiers have been laid to rest
with full military honours in a new War Cemetery with the last interred in late July 2010.

Carrying the First Year Prefix of the final Macfarlane/Henry annual $5 issue, BA06, these notes are also distinguished as from the earliest part of the 2006 print run by virtue of their high serial numbers. Bearing
serials from 999989 to 999900 – and therefore desirable as Semi Solid Serial Notes – such high numbered notes are scarce. This scarcity is a result of the production process, with a lot of notes from early in a print run rejected due to problems with the ink in the printing of the serial numbers. Thus, many notes with serials as high as those found in this
