Rally in the Valley Recap

GET EXCITED!

Next year’s Rally in the

Valley is already in

process!

This year’s Rally in the Valley was

held at the beautiful and secluded

camp Wilanni, just outside of

Veneta, OR. It was a two day get

away from the fast paced life to a

close knit group of Key Club friends.

The days consisted of

games, team building activities,

leadership training, and several

informational forums. The first day

was wrapped up with a campfire

under the stars.

Thank you to everyone

who came including District

Governor Trang Tran and District

Secretary Hakikat Bains!

Local News

YOU CAN CHECK THE AIR QUALITY AT:

http://www.deq.state.or.us/aqi/index.aspx

As all of you should know the entire

Northwest is experiencing a trying time

due to the recent fires. Over 40,000 acres

are burning and so far little progress has

been made towards containment. Many

schools have had to canceled their pre-

season sports programs and many of our

local tourist attractions have suffered. But

most detrimental has been the smoke’s

affect on local health. Currently, the

smoke is lifting and there is hope for rain

this weekend. Please be safe and stay

inside if the air quality index gets too

high. Please refrain from outdoor

activities and ask others to do the same!

Stay safe and stay positive!

How YOU can help! Below are some ideas:

• Write thank you cards or make posters for

local firefighters

• Pass out masks to people on the streets

(information on specifically what kind of

mask can be found on local news

websites)

• Educate yourself and your

family/friends/community about the

affect of smoke.

• Collect water and snacks for firefighters
