Pronouns
Pronouns(subjective)
• São aqueles que correspondem ao sujeito da ação ( aquele que pratica a ação )
I love her -> A ação “amar” é praticada pelo “Eu” sobre o “Ela”
Pronouns(object)
• São aqueles que correspondem ao objeto da ação ( aquele que sofre a ação )
I love her -> Quem é “amada” é “ela” ou “ela” é “amada” pelo “eu”.
Pronouns(PA)
• São aqueles que correspondem à posse de algo geralmente no início da frase e que tem função adjetiva.
Her mom is ugly -> A mãe DELA é feia.“dela” é a característica da mãe mencionada.
Pronouns(PP)
• São aqueles que correspondem à posse de algo geralmente no final da frase e junto com uma preposição.
This is your book -> Esse é o seu livro.This is the book of yours -> Esse é o seu livroShe is mine -> Ela é minha.
Pronouns(reflexive)
• São aqueles que correspondem à própria coisa ou pessoa.
I love myself -> Eu me amo / eu amo a mim mesmo.

Title
• Tells something about the story• May show the main idea• Can be direct or subjective• Can be a character´s name, an event, a
fragment from the story or another one or a quotation
Author
• The biography tells us a lot of things about the story
• Part of the life experience is present on the story
• The author may see or put himself inside the story
Historical background
• Helps to define the setting and plot of the story
• Have a great amount of influence on the story• Defines the author´s general line of thought
Plot
• It is the way the story is arranged or organized• It contains the subject of the story
Setting
• It is the way the elements of the story are situated.
• It is divided as time, place and social environment
• Linear or non-linear
Characters
• They are the actors of the story• Kinds of characters: protagonist/main
character; antagonist; hero and anti-hero; secondary characters
• They can be round ( complex ) or flat ( simple )
Point of view
• It is the way the narrator is shown on the text• Types of narrator:• 1st person• 3rd person• Naïve• Intrusive or non-intrusive
Mood
• It is the feeling of the story• It can be dark, happy, ironic, sarcastic, gothic
and etc.
Sysmbolism
• It is the reading through of the figures of speech
• It is the subjective meaning of the story
