A CLEVER ADDITIONAURIS

Driving the Auris is both effortless and exciting thanks to our Optimal Drive engines. The 1.3 engine delivers power of 73 kW @ 6000 r/min and torque of 128 @ 3800 r/min whilst the 1.6 models combine 97 kW @ 6400 r/min with torque of 160 @ 4400 r/min. And if you choose the Auris XR CVT, you can also enjoy our Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), which makes going through gears easy and effortless. All of our other models also come with a full 6-speed manual transmission. Now that’s a powerful reason to choose an Auris.

Whoever said you can’t have beauty and brains has never been inside an Auris. A sleek silver trim outlines the instrument panel and centre console, while XR models boast sport front seats with driver and front passenger heaters, as well as partial leather trim. Across all models, you’ll find a tech-savvy Multi-Information Display (MID) that shows the time, elapsed driving time, trip fuel consumption, distance to empty, average speed and outside temperature. Air conditioning is standard in all models, and the XR models have an automatic air conditioner with separate controls for the driver and front passenger. The Xs and XR models also have a 7” electrostatic display audio with a DVD player and six speakers, while the X and Xi models have a radio/ CD player with four speakers. All models also come with an audio jack, a USB port and Bluetooth connectivity.The XR models also boast clever additions such cruise control, Smart Entry and Push Start System, a back monitor (also standard on the Xs model) and an electrochromatic interior review mirror that automatically dims the brightness of the lights of the vehicles behind you. Now that’s a bright idea!

ELEGANCE

A smart design in more ways than one, the Auris combines dynamic design with bold details. At the front, you’ll notice a more aggressive- looking grille and side-lines that run sinuously along the whole vehicle, while the Xs and XR models come with front fog lamps. Towards the back, you’ll see a robust rear rounded off with sporty-styled tail lights. The Xi, Xs, XR and XR CVT models also come with stylish 16” alloy wheels.

To further enhance its striking appearance, we’ve colour-coded the door handles and front and rear bumpers on all models and put privacy glass on the rear side mirrors of the Xs and XR models. And as a little something extra on the sides, all models come with electronically adjustable exterior mirrors with integrated side indicators.

SAFETYA N D S EC U R I T YIf you’re looking for ultimate peace-of-mind, the Auris is your solution. We’ve taken care of everything from the braking system (Anti-lock Braking System, Brake Assist System and Electronic Brake force Distribution) to driver, front passenger and side airbags. The XR models have additional curtain shield and driver knee airbags. For security, there is a transponder key immobilizer and alarm.

Braking it down:The Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) prevents the wheels from locking up and helps the driver retain control when the brakes are pressed in an emergency stop.

Brake Assist System (BAS) activates at the same time as ABS. BAS ensures that the correct brake force is applied to bring the vehicle to a safe stop.
