We’re delighted to announce details of Aurora’s multi-million pound refurbishment Aurora Update With seven ships in the current P&O Cruises fleet, we’re always keen to assure a consistent level of décor and service. We use the feedback we receive about the venues and innovations on our new ships to the advantage of the rest of the fleet. Aurora is a firm favourite in the P&O Cruises fleet and our aim is to keep her looking beautiful for years to come. In November 2014, just in time for her 2015 World Cruise, Aurora spent 20 nights in dry dock in Hamburg. These changes have been worth the wait because she now boasts updates to some of her most-loved areas, a number of new venues and an extensive cabin refresh. Stunning new look Aurora has returned from her refit with the Union Flag livery adorning her bow and a blue funnel depicting the P&O Cruises rising sun. She is the first ship in the whole fleet to sail with the new livery. Announcing our new and enhanced Club and Freedom Dining experience! We are proud to introduce some brand new initiatives this cruise, which we are sure you will love. Freedom Dining for Aurora Freedom Dining has proved so popular with passengers on board our other ships that, from 18 December 2014, we will be extending the option to Aurora. Freedom Dining is a wonderfully flexible choice, allowing you to enjoy the special ambience of the main restaurant with exactly the same menu, but at a time that’s convenient to you. You can choose to arrive between 6pm and 9.30pm, with whom you like, and your Restaurant Manager will make every effort to seat you as soon as possible. (If your requested table size isn’t immediately available, you’ll be given a pager so you can take a pre-dinner drink at one of the bars or explore the ship whilst waiting.) Club or Freedom Dining is allocated at the time of booking and confirmation of your dining allocation can be found in your cabin. Freedom Dining passengers – Please make your way to the Medina Restaurant (Deck 6, midship) any time between 6.00pm and 9.30pm. Club Dining passengers – You’ll be dining in the Alexandria Restaurant (Deck 6, aft). Your allocated sitting and table number can be found on a card in your cabin. Marco Pierre White gala dinner menus Renowned celebrity chef Marco Pierre White has created several dishes for Club and Freedom Dining restaurants which can be enjoyed on gala evenings throughout your cruise. Gala evenings always serve up a sense of occasion, and the added magic of Marco’s touch will make the whole experience that little bit more special! Classic Favourites are back on the menu We have had a lot of feedback from passengers about the range of classic dishes that we used to feature in the main restaurants, and we’re delighted to announce these dishes are back on the menu! The selection of ‘Classic Favourites’ will be available every day (apart from on gala evenings), alongside our à la carte dinner menu, and include Caesar Salad, Fillet of Salmon and Sirloin Steak. Enhanced presentation As the well-known saying goes, “the first bite is with the eye”, our talented chefs have been cooking up a new approach to enhance the presentation of our dishes. They have let their imaginations translate to the plate, and we can’t wait to share the results with you. Each dish will now be presented and served with the vegetables and accompaniments, rather than the more traditional served approach. The benefits are not only aesthetic, you will also enjoy more complementary flavours and textures, just as the chef intended. Plus, our waiters will have more time to get to know you better, so they can deliver a friendlier, more efficient service.

Aurora Update

With seven ships in the current P&O Cruises fleet, we’re always keen to assure a consistent level of décor and service.

Atul’s on boardDeck 8, midship

Set in a beautiful location at the top of Aurora’s Atrium, Atul Kochhar’s Sindhu now offers a menu of authentic Indian dishes with a modern British twist. This new Select Dining restaurant is open in the evening, while during the day, it offers additional seating for the ever popular Raffles.

Wine and dineDeck 8, aft

The Glass House has joined Aurora in the space that previously housed Café Bordeaux. Diners are now able to enjoy vintage wine by the glass courtesy of the Enomatic wine system stocked with wines specially selected by wine expert Olly Smith. Breakfast is also available, at no extra charge, before the bar opens at 11am.

Refreshed and refinedDeck 12, aft

The Orangery has been renamed The Horizon Restaurant, and the décor has been replaced with a lighter and brighter, nautical colour scheme. More tables for two have been added, and throughout the day, in addition to the self service tea and

coffee areas, waiters serve tea and coffee to your table. In the evening, the Pennant Grill has been replaced by The Beach House – a great informal evening choice offering a wide selection of grills and seafood.
