Who We Are
• The programs emerged from the “Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program,” to become the: Austin Healthy Adolescent Program (AHA)
• As AHA, our program encompasses teen pregnancy prevention, youth empowerment, adult-youth partnerships and collaborations.

• We envision a future where adolescents are active decision makers and fully engaged in improving their own health and the health of
our communities.
• We provide leadership to – Engage youth and adults in partnerships
– Empower adolescents with opportunities to have a voice in decision making
– Collaborate across the community to improve the adolescent health infrastructure
Program Goals & ObjectivesCore Framework
AHA Programming Impact
• 300 unique youth sexual health-related questions were answered through the BrdsNBz teen text line
• Conducted 9 AHA Learning Community Sessions that were attended by over 400 service providers and youth.
• Over 200 youth received a copy of the AHA News Letter per month
• Over 100 youth participated in Young Artist Project Outreach events where four (4) Community Recommendations were gathered.
AHA Community Collaborations
• 158 youth attended the 2013 Middle School Diversity Leadership Conference
• Over 300 youth were provided Sexual Health Education through partnership with Planned Parenthood, Inc.
• Average of over 30 Providers attend the monthly Healthy Youth Partnership Meeting and Trainings
• Working with newly formed Austin Opportunity Youth Collaborative on development of Youth Engagement Curriculum and Youth Leadership group.

AHA Sustainability In Action
PSP Framework
1) Education: Increase/improvement in knowledge, skills, and/or attitudes (KSA) about sexual activity, condom use, contraceptive (i.e. hormonal birth control) use, risks of sexual activity.
2) Health: Decrease reported pregnancy, birth, and STI/HIV/AIDS rates among youth (Opportunity Youth Age Range).
3) Empowerment: Increase/improvement in beliefs and/or attitudes that community offers/supports their leadership/empowerment.
