Lakes Entrance
Where I live
Looking East
Looking West
Lakes Entrance is located on a lake system that connects to the sea through a man made channel. There are islands in the lakes.
The lakes stretch over 100km to our west and are fed by 5 main rivers. They are separated from the sea by a narrow strip of sand dunes. The ocean beach is 90 miles long.
Looking out the entrance with a fishing boat coming in.
The town with lakes on both sides.
We have the largest fishing fleet in Australia.

Flooding in town
Sometimes rains cause the lake to flood into the town. There is a lot of concern about climate change making sea levels rise and more regular floods like this.
Our back garden – the big trees are in our land. One of my favourite flowers is grevillea – a native
These bowerbirds are a pest in the veggie garden as they eat leafy plants & pull them out.
