We also had a Training and Development session run by the Australian Ballet Company last week and it was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended. It was practical and we took away a lot of ideas to use with the children. Last Friday 4 dancers form the Australian Ballet Company spent the morning doing a workshop with each class . It was fantastic and the positive comments and vibes from both the children and staff were great. Two of the dancers performed a short ballet called Plain Jane which was a take on Cinderella. The message was not to give in to peer pressure, just be your self. It was beautifully choreographed and the message was very clear through the dance. We have been very busy watching some very talented children audition for the big Yahls Got Talent night on the 13th of September. We will be having the event at the City Band Hall in Mount Gambier. The children are very excited about the event . The various music groups will also be showcasing their great talents on the night and I am really proud of what they have done and how far they have come this year. I hope to see you all there to support our children. Peter Kartu, a volunteer at our school has offered to run a drumming session with parents on Wednesday mornings and for children during lunch and recess. The first two weeks have run smoothly but it would be great to see a few more parents and friends taking part on Wednesday mornings. Please come along and have a go. I would like to let you know that Kazue our wonderful Japanese exchange teacher that we had in 2017 was married on Saturday. Kazue bonded really well with our community and she sees Yahl School as very much a part of her family. A reminder that Book Week begins next week with our Big Parade being on Monday. There will be a variety of activities happening throughout the week including a Pyjama Day on Wednesday (gold Coin Donation) and a free milo and homemade biscuit. We still havent heard about whether we were successful with the Music Grant but hopefully we will hear one way or another in the next week or two. Term 3, Week 6

Respect for self, respect for others, respect for the environment

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

We have had another Whirlwind fortnight with lots of events and learning happening throughout the fortnight.

Our staff went to a Training and Development session about Ancient Rome last week as they have a display at the Mount Gambier Town Hall which the children from all classes will have the opportunity to see.

We have been very busy watching some very talented children audition for the big Yahl’s Got Talent night on the 13th of September.

We still haven’t heard about whether we were successful with the Music Grant but hopefully we will hear one way or another in the next week or two.
