David fincherFact file:-Fincher was born on 1962 in Denver ,Colorado ,America-He is considered one of the best Directors in the industry with huge successes with mainstream films including The curious case of Benjamin button, which got him nominated for an Academy award for best director, His film The social network earnt him a Bafta and a golden globe. He has been involves with well- known projects here are a few examples:-Fight club-The social network- Se7en-The girl with the dragon tattoo-House of cards

Career timeline ● Age 18- Joined Korty films as a production assistant He was promoted up the ranks and

became visual effects producer.

● 1983-1984 -he worked on two blockbuster films: Return of the Jedi and Indiana Jones

● 1986-started directing music videos such as “we don’t have to take our clothes off “ ( Jermaine Steward)and the 3 Madonna hits of “express yourself” ,”Vogue” and “Bad girl”

● 1990’s Fincher directed Seven starring Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman which had a $100 million domestic gross income.

● During the late 90s He directed Fight club which was ranked the number 1 on the list of 50 Essential DVDs

● 2000s Fincher directed Panic Room, Zodiac and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button which where all major hits.

● 2010’s Fincher directed projects such as The girl with the dragon tattoo and the social network as well as directing the Netflix hit the House of cards.

Fincher’s style

- Fincher also applies a fluid camera tracking movement which gives the director the advantage of the of accessing the full set

-Flincher Uses many silhouettes to generate mystery and suspense so the audience cant fully see the faces

-In many of Fincher’s music videos Fincher tends to be unorthodox with his approach for instance many of his music video’s are in black in white examples include :Stabilizers - "One Simple Thing" And Madonna’s Vogue

Fincher also uses a single frame insert ,this is where a frame is inserted in a middle of a scene

Fincher also changes colour temperature to distinguish flashbacks and the present day.

Spike Jonze is one third of a trio who are responsible for the success of dirt magazine with Andy Jerkins and Mark Lewman . He has also has directed many of the most famous music videos out there.

2006- nominated for "Outstanding Achievement in Commercials by the Directors Guild of America

In 2007 he became A creative director at VBS.tv

In 2011 He collaborated with The Beastie Boys with their project ‘"Don't Play No Game That I Can't Win’

Jonez played a role in the Wolf of Wall street

He directed the video for "Weapon of Choice "in 2001 by Fatboy slim.

He was a member of Propaganda Films.

He is well known for shooting many skate boarding scenes in films such as Blind's 1991 magnum opus "Video Days" and Girl's 2003 "Yeah Right!".

He’s worked with many artist ranging from Kanye west to Daft punk.

Many consider him one of the most successful directors for music videos, he has received numerous awards many from companies such MTV for his outstanding work in the industry .

2004 His Levi’s commercial had the most awards for a commercial

Became an Artist in resident at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology

‘The thorn in the heart’Was released in 2009

His film the we and the eye was released in the 2012 film festival

-Gondry is considered by many as one of the most creative and artistic projects .

-Gondry spent much of his youth in Versailles France where at a young age he aspired to be an inventor and artist

In the 80s he formed the pop-rock group “Oui –Oui “

The band released two albums and eventually split in 1992

As a band member he often directed their music videos which was shown on MTV

He later Formed a partnership with Bjork he helped her with 6 music videos.

He later got world recognition and got requested to direct commercials for Nike and levis

He then Became a hollywood Director and filmed films including ‘Human nature’.
